PartyPoker Rant

I decided to play some PartyPoker this evening for a change, playing sit and goes.

When I used to use them you could have a good game - so I am now questioning the quality of their customer base because their answer to everything is:

ALL IN ALL IN

I dont like to raise pre-flop with a hand I am not willing to push all-in with because its a waste of chips - somebody will just push back at me!!

Its like playing with a bunch of morons whose software is restricted to the following buttons:

- All-in
- Fold (maximum of 5 times/hour)

At PokerStars, a game can last a while, and it can go for a long time before somebody is eliminated - whilst here, a tournament is over within half and hour - and the first person eliminated within about 10 minutes.

Just to add to my rant, you get players allin A2 64o, and players calling a PR with low connectors!!

I know I am profiting from it - but its not a game of skill - its a game of luck!!

Cash tournament? Or play money tournament? If cash, how are you playing on PP? :O

But I played a play money tournament and within the first 3 minutes 1/4 of the entries were out.

Its a cash tournament, you kinda expect it in play money tournaments - in fact, I am usually the one pushing lol - but where you are playing for real money, people just dont seem to have concept of how to play the game - for example, a tournament I was in last night, the SB pushed allin when the flop came up, I called with a good hand, and it turns out he was on a closed straight draw - insane.

I should probably be happy in some way that they are like this, because I made money :).
I think sticking with PS for a proper game is a big must!

You cant just say stick to the games with the worse players! Poker is a hobby, are hobby needs to be enjoyable - so playing awful players isn't really the answer.

Unless you have a premium hand early on just sit back and let the maniacs take each other out.

If the games are over so quick then surely the blinds haven't had the chance to get too big so you can afford to let a few go by as long as they keep knocking each other out.

You know what I find enjoyable about poker? Looking at my neteller account and seeing all the withdrawals i've made. Buying myself little treats with my Poker winnings. Logging into my Titan account and seeing $500 in there, from a deposit last month of $20. Winning money is enjoyable, why make it hard work for yourself? Crazy players = dead money, the standard of play will soon level out so do as beardyian suggests, and hoover up the wins.

All people have different reason for playing poker, some it for total hobby and the money really dosent factor into it. They could deposit $100 one day and lose it all and as long as they had fun it dosent matter to them.

then there are others that would hate losing the $100 and are there to win and only win and seek out the weak players.

some only want to play the good players, its different for everyone.

Please tells us your reasoning, if you can remember it, why you would limp in first position first hand with Q4offsuit ?

I think I can say that because I did...

I was assuming you wanted to win money. I won't question your motives for playing poker though. They are your own. But if you want to enjoy your hobby by winning then I stand by what I say.
