I ask party poker what I thought was a simple question regarding this promo.

"Deposit now for your 50% up to 100 CAD Poker bonus."

I ask them, so do I need to put down, $200 to get up to $100 CAD, or do I need to deposit the minimum $50, and the rake bonus caps out at $100?

The live agent has no idea, he just starts saying random terms about the promo, it takes him half an hour now to answer my question.

After half an hour of waiting, what he says it actually means, is I get $50 back if I deposit $100.

Did not expect that...

Anyways, these sites are so fraudulent, they can't even help themselves. Everything is an angle shoot, there own agents can't even keep track of their angle shoots or wrap there minds around how these promo's work.

Unbelievable.

$200 deposit required to activate it.
Reckon you will have to play around 25k+ worth of buy ins and pay $500 worth of rake roughly to clear it if a reload bonus a good deal an extra $100 if you can avoid the downswing while trying good luck.

Got the calculator out for this one correct me if wrong lol,
Each format will be different for rake lets assume you play $100 heads up though for example as you will not clear it by tournaments if it has to be done in 7 days like my last reload bonus on partypoker.

$500 divided by $1.72 = 290.69
So $29,000 worth of buy ins at $100 heads up will clear the $100 bonus I reckon.

Well maybe if enough people complained they wouldn't do it anymore.

All companies do this FREE $100 type advertisements and they are not lying it is a bonus bit of rake back that you would have paid anyway provided you can put in the volume.
If win a $1000 after putting in the required play it is a great deal getting another $100 but if lose a $1000 not worth it though depends on how you run really.
All players should know this is the catch with these type of bonus offers.
Better to play on a site with a bonus than putting in the same volume on another site without a bonus I think so not understanding why you think bonuses like this should stop to be honest?
Most times I lose when chase these bonuses but have cleared many bonuses over the years on different sites and was grateful for the extra cash to be honest if putting in poker volume anyway one way or another.

I don't mind the promo's (in fact I like them), what I don't like, is when they mix deception in with them.

For example, some of the bonuses are for Casino only, how would you know this?

Sometimes you don't. You can ask chat support for clarification, but such as in this instance, they don't know either.

So to me, when your own employees, don't understand the promo's, as they have deceptive elements, that is a big big problem.

I just want the Casino's/Pokersites to list there promo's in a clear way. I feel like that's fair, and in every other business, it is required.

This ain’t the old Wild West days of online poker where bonuses were actually bonuses and not high hurdles to clear.

I’m often reminded of the old sales mantra every time I come through here. “If you have to ask the price, you can’t afford it”

If you need a word for word explanation of how a poker bonus works.......literally word for word explained to you.......are you going to make that deposit? Sounds like it may be a frustrating experience

I won’t go as far as to suggest “someone’s trying to scam a few extra dollars out” but I’m not sure what’s so confusing about a straight forward depo bonus.

And you’ll never clear it playing freerolls. Take a loooong ass time to pay $500 in rake that way........seems to be the game of choice in these parts........

They aren't straight forward, that's the issue. If they were, I wouldn't be in chat with an agent for half hour for them to give me the wrong answer regarding a very simple question.

Yes true bonuses they are designed to generate money for the site a support Rep is not going to tell you that it will be very difficult to clear the bonus all they want is to get the deposits in I reckon.
But they should be able to tell you about the different offers Casino or whatever I never play them really did not try with these two for example.
After depositing a few hundred thought I was getting $50 Casino bonus but they wanted another $250 I think worth of Casino played first to get the $50 so 2 deposits needed did not like my odds and did not try to clear it.:dontknow:
Maybe other members on the forum are knowledgeable or have stories about Casino bonuses they have used?

Support should get a colleague who understands it better to explain it to a customer who is asking you are right agree there I suppose.
