Hey everyone. I am a casual 2/5 player live games, and want to start playing some more online. I think it’s from watching all the streamers but wanted to get yalls opinion.

I live in Florida so ...

A - what’s the best site to play on?

B - playing the little I have, I don’t know if it’s worth playing anything other than tourneys?

C - am I just burning money or is there a real way to make money here?

D - any advice for studying and adjusting to online?

1 maybe America Cardrum will suit you (I like it) !!!
2 poker definitely does not end with tournaments only !!! It all depends on how much free time you have !!! the tournament takes a lot of time !!! You have to decide which discipline you want to play, and not confuse poker disciplines, since the range of discoveries in each poker discipline is different and this can have a negative impact on your game !!!
3 way there is a constant work on your game and on your mistakes !!! remember there is no easy money here except for occasional single winnings !!!
4 Unfortunately, I have no experience in offline games, so I can not advise you anything !!!.

My advice is if you’re a winning 2/5 player or pro, I’d play live and travel to find soft games not play online. Unless you are in a state where online gambling is legal. Then I’d go ask some pros in your area where the softest games are

First you need to realize, that the money, people play for online, is much smaller than in live games. This is compensated to some degree by being able to play a lot more hands by multi tabling and playing more hours, but even so its probably easier to make some sort of real money playing 2/5 live games than playing anything online.

You can make money online, but to beat even a limit like 10c/25c, you actually need to be better than to beat soft 2/5 live games. This is because, most beginners and casual players online are found at even lower stakes, and the regulars get a lot of experience by playing millions of hands. And even at limits like 10c/25c or lower, you find a lot of professional or semi-professional grinders from low income areas like Eastern Europe.

These guys cant easily go to your local casino in Florida, and they are probably also not bankrolled for the games or the trip. But they can easily go online, and therefore you will meet them there.

So really the most valuable tip is, dont overestimate your skill, just because you have played some live poker. Online you still need to start nearly from the beginning, and you are going to need to do some study as well and work on the technical parts of your game. Obviously there is no such thing as live reads online, so its more of a math based game.

C - am I just burning money or is there a real way to make money here? Persistance and patience is key, it takes a long time to get good enough to make a lot of money.

D - any advice for studying and adjusting to online? Yes learn to read a player by how many chips he plays.You already ahead of the online players so have the confidence that you can play well.
