For long term MTT SnG fans this is a day of sadness, since long standing favourites like the 180 mans are now completely gone. What we get instead is mostly 18-45 or 18-180 man "on demand" SnGs, and everything above 1$ is now turbos. Cynical minds might say, that pokerstars want to push people towards turbos, because they earn more rake that way. But the truth is, all the regular speed games were playing less and less frequently, and the turbos were simply more popular. So basically this is just another sign of, how SnGs are slowly dying, and even the largest site of them all have to adjust to that fact :(

It is all about traffic a few years a back they removed plenty of the one table hypers that I used to play so it is definitely not about pushing players to turbo games.

I agree. And while I am sad to see the regular speed games and the 90-180 mans gone, the changes have had the desired effect of making games run more frequently. Right now I am winding down a session, which included some of the new 5$ 18-45 and 18-180 mans. So even at this time of day, where volume is near its lowest, these games are actually running.

Whereas most of the games, they replaced, only ran during the european time zone evening hours, and at a very low frequenzy like 1-2 games per hour. So while we now get way less games to choose between, at least those, that are offered, actually run, and we dont have to wait so long for them to start up either.

For me even the quality is what bothers me, cause as time goes on you just have to gamble more and more in hyper and turbo ones, so as the prizes are not so attractive.

Its not a solution for me if some SNGs were not so popular or took time to run it, simply delete it. Maybe reduce it, but definitely give some option to players, who fit bigger fields, slower games better (and willing to took time to earn better money).

I guess, the answer is, that if we want big fields and slow blinds, then we need to go in the tournament lobby. I used to play the 4,5$ 36-180 man quite a bit and had some decent results in it. It was a nice "mini-MTT", which for me was ideal to play after work, where I could set off up to 4 hours but not 6 or 8. But the reality was, it only ran at most one time per hour towards the end, whereas 2 years ago a new one began every 15 minutes. So realistically it would soon have died completely anyway. Should volume go back up, I guess, we can always hope for them to add in some more games like maybe a 3,5$ 18-45 man and 18-180 man, which could then be regular speed. But for now that is only a dream :)
