888 Poker just ended their SNAP Grand Hand promotion only to right away introduce a new one for all cash games 5NL or higher. This time you only need to win with "hand of the day" after the flop one time, but the rewards are also smaller with only a 4% chance of winning more than a tournament ticket. And the daily 2.000$ tournament will surely see larger fields than during the SNAP promotion.

Still a nice little extra bonus, but given the limited rewards its important to not chase to hard after "hand of the day". Especially when its something more difficult like the good old 72 or some suited cards, which you only see 1 in 332 hands on average. Today its AQ though, which should be pretty easy. But basically let it come close to naturally or not at all, so you dont give up more EV at the tables, than you win from the promotion.

I already beat the odds on the first day by hitting the $10 at just 4%, but it is bonus money, not cash this time.

I only played the last 4 days of the previous GH, but I had the golden horseshoe as I hit $100 cash, $10 cash x2 and a $2k freeroll ticket (won another $7.60 in the freeroll).

I always wondered if anyone here actually hit the $100 or $1000 prizes as I can't recall ever seeing anyone post that they hit them.

I was looking around the promo page today, I wanted to see if omaha cash games fit the criteria. I would like to think so cause it just says play any 2/5c or higher cash games, snap included. Imagine getting double hands of the day lol like today for example J10J10

The tournament last night only had around 700 entries, so an EV of almost 3$ per player, which is pretty good. Be carefull to not spew it off at the tables though. This morning at 10NL full ring I saw someone lose an entire stack with JT chasing the hand of the day. He started by cold calling my 3-bet from the SB seat, so already there the hand went off the rails quite a bit. Original raiser called as well, so 3-ways to the flop. Flop came JXX, I missed completely, so I checked back. Turn was a Q, all the money went in, I went out. Original raiser had QQ. BOOM there went the expected EV of around 3 days bonuses, but I am sure, the guy with QQ is happy for the gift :D

Is the grand hand promo for 888 for depositors only?

I always liked the promotions on this site. I believe the 888 has the best loyalty and rewards program for players. The number of freerolls that pass per day is much higher than on other sites.
Good luck.

I crushed the odds again with the scratch cards for the most recent version of the Grand Hand.

With the odds of getting the $10 bonus at just 4% I hit it for the 2nd time tonight on just my 4th scratch card.:D

Already have it up to $17 and ready to use for the next grand hand tomorrow night.

This one is still running for another weak or so. The 2.000$ daily tournament typically see around 1.200 players now, and yesterday much to my amazement I actually finished in second place and took home 158$, which is a nice little boost to my bankroll :)

1 hour, 37 minutes and 89 hands is, what it took. Its a hyper turbo with just 3 minutes between blinds going up. Which also mean, that after 15 minutes or so its pretty much push or fold every single hand for the rest of the tournament.

I got very lucky, and that is the only way, you ever run deep in an event like this. You have to win not one but several all in preflop hands, not lose to many in between, and only to someone, who does not have you covered.

I was down to less than a single blind at some point, but survived and came back. At the final heads up we started with fairly even stacks, and it was basically down to some coin flips again, and this time I got handed the short end of the stick.

Still another week left of this promotion. To my amazement I reached another final table yesterday, this time for a 5. place finish :)

Those are extremely nice hits, over a long period of time i have only scratched my biggest win a 10$ card. I win a lot of freeroll tickets but those are not run of the mill scratches that's for sure.

Decided to participate for the first(and last?) time in this promotion so went to cash tables to get AK which came within first hand which i obviously won :)
Scratch card probably wasn't too spectacular cause it was just that freeroll ticket ...

Nice one for a first try. I have also noticed, that there seem to be a glitch in their software. Supposedly only postflop hands account, but I have been rewarded the price multible times for winning the hand preflop.

For instance yesterday the hand was AK, and in 700 hands I only got AK twice, and both times I picked up the blinds uncontested with a standard open. Yet I still got an email, that I had solved the challenge.

Well today i needed to wait for AQ way longer but when it arrived i easily won hand thanks to queens three of kind. Scratch was another freeroll ticket so surely there i'll probably make much worse result compared to yesterday lol

How many times

How many times do I have to win a grand hand promotion monthly to get a special prize?

In general, against this room and for bots, since there are prize places paid by the player for $ 1000 and the sum of the tournament bank is about $ 3000, where does the rest of the money come from? And so every day in many tournaments!

Not quite sure what you are talking about? If the price pool is 3.000$, and players only paid 1.000$, that is called an overlay, and its basically free money. There are currently many MTTs on 888 Poker with an overlay, but I have never seen anything of this magnitude. Maybe the players paid 2.850$, and 888 Poker paid out 3.000$. Something of that magnitude. Overlays are obviously not sustainable, but they happen especially in periods with declining player interest.

Eventually poker sites remove overlays by reducing the quarantied price pools, so that for instance the 3.000$ tournament becomes a 2.000$ tournament. Sites can sometimes be reluctant to do that though, especially if its one of there featured high profile MTTs like the "big fish" on 888 Poker, so sometimes overlays can persist for while.
