I also listen to my music on shuffle, so I get a pretty wide variety.

Fantomas
Trouble
GWAR
Manowar
Donovan
Jethro Tull
Frank Zappa
Tori Amos
The Decemberists

But, I also like listening to Brit radio broadcasts and books on tape. (HGTTG especially)

Listening to music while playing is almost a must for me... I have a huge variety of music that I like, mainly a metal fan, but the aggressive nature of that music doenst lend to playing smart patient poker... I tend to listen to reggae, rap, country, electronica... I really try and find something with a good beat and flow which seems to help my reads and plays... I dont know why but when u got a good beat it makes u feel good and u seem to play better

I haven't heard a music style I don't like, but while I play online I seem to play the blues...Hope that's no indication of what I expect to happen when I play!!...LMAO!!:thrasher:

Del shannon you can't knock.

Vanessa Mae and Rod Stewart I have no excuses for. I got the 80s bug as well as the classical bug lately

Don't worry, I listened to enough eazy to make it ok to listen to classical for the next five years.

Um ya, very diverse.

Bonus points for having the Pixies and the Dead Milkmen in there.:D

Negative points for Duran Duran and Rihanna.
LOL. Well, I only like that Rihanna song because it has the riff from New Order's "Blue Monday". And I've been listening to Duran Duran since before you knew you could do more with cards than stick them in your bicycle spokes. I also met them in 1993.

dude, nsync is the best, you can't deny their talent. Beatles are like old and stuff.

as i said, take their best song and compare it to something like hey jude, or let it be. it's night and day. look at any top band list of all time, something like rolling stones magazine, almost every list is going to have the beatles as number 1. i doubt nsync would be in the top 20 in any list. what the beatles accomplished as a band has not yet even been challenged by anyother band. just look at when they held the top 5 spots at once of the american top 100, simply amazing and no band has even come close to this.

Wow Philthy, you are just about the only person i know who know of and like the same bands i do. I <3 lightspeed and bright eyes.

More people need to realise that mainstream bands and music is rubbish compared to all of the hidden gems around who dont care about being on tv or publicise themselves, but just care about their music.

Philthy, have you heard of Karate High School? I think youll like them

i agree that much of modern music is such crap. i always use the song "this is why i'm hot" (if that's the title) as an example of this. this is why im hot, this is why im hot, this is why, this is why, this is why im hot. just absolute crap music. wish i was around for the golden age:( the beatles, rolling stones, bob dylan, elvis, and so many more brilliant artists.

ya, i realized that after posting my original comment lol. i guess i was more pissed that not more people mentioned them. the fab four just don't get the credit today, that they deserve.
