There is more going on here than matching ip addresses and transfers between those accounts. My husband and I have matching ip addresses and have done transfers multiple times and have never been asked to provide any id's - or anything at all.

OP is leaving something out.

Their site, their rules, do what they ask or move on.

I'm glad they are checking these things.

pokerstars doesnt care if you tell them the truth. Just tell them you had multiple accounts, they will shut some down and keep others. The only time they care is if you were using the accounts to cheat.

True, I've play with many regulars from many forums, but though they seem to be good online friends , you still have to be alert.

One thing I would say never think you can CHOP a prize with someone . It happen to me a guy used to play all the time. 1st place tourney paid $2k, winner take all. Went heads up, and agree to chop. He did win, never chop it and his account was deleted. The site couldn't do anything.

Play to win

I look at it this way. If you are not comfortable giving a gaming site your personal info (including credit card and ID), then you have no business depsiting money on the site and/or playing for real money.

With my freeroll fueled bankroll... I don't think I have anything to worry about for quite awhile...

ID maybe. But I use neteller for all online transactions, and, as long as that works satisfactorily, no gaming site will ever get my credit card info!

Same here on the 2 accounts. Never a problem.

If OP isn't leaving something out, some of his 'friends' are leaving HIM out of their 'loop'.

Sets the stage for:
Good poker players hate cheaters
Cheaters hate good poker players
Cheaters hate getting caught even more ... :D

Hi,
I don't think PS are being unreasonable. Look at it from their point of view, if you ran a poker site and saw those names with what looks like very close links, what would you do? Exactly the same I suspect. At the end of the day PS are protecting both their interests and yours.
And the bottom line? If you don't like their conditions...play another site and hope they perform their security responsibilities as diligently as PS.

Absolute Poker did the same thing

Absolute Poker just did the same thing to me except that my husband and I each had an account. We only transferred money back and forth between us and no one else. We've had these accounts for over two years. I tried to log on tonight and AP said My log in was not identified. I tried my husbands account, same thing. I was eventually sent around to security who told me they wanted me to send them my drivers license, a utility bill, my credit card statement and a copy of my credit card. I'd won over $300 in freerolls and suddenly both accounts were closed. I wasn't even going to take the money out. I never made a deposit. I just played and had fun. I won't be playing there anymore. I didnt provide any of that information when I signed up. Get out any money you have in there now before you try to log and and your accounts and your money dont exist anymore.

Its fine, you just need to realise that its a gambling community, and they have these details any way they just want you to clarify them. so you are really just regurgitating info you have already provided them but in solid form. there is nothing to worry about there a multinational respected firm there not going to steal your identity.

I guess everyone has had there problems with certain site. I for one have never had a problem with AP, playing there for years, transfer cash many times, and withdraw many times.

Me and Stick have made tons of transfers and we were never accused. I have made tons of transfers with other friends too, even played at the same house as friends before and never had this happen to me.

If Stars is contacting you, you most likely did something wrong.
