LOL... i just won a bonus in 888s "Hand of the Day Promo"...

The problem: The bonus is valid for 60 days. But since 888 changed it's policy lately you can only wager the bonus when you have a cash balance of 0 because your cash balance will always be used first since the change. But the bonus requires you to use "restricted funds" ( the bonus ) to fulfill the requirements for clearing it. So all games with cash funds do not count towards the bonus requirements....

So what i actually won is the freaking awesome amazing bigly "right" to get $1 from 888
IF AND ONLY IF
i lose my total bankroll
AND THEN
generate 1.5 dollar rake using the $1 bonus that is left in my account.
ALL THIS IN 60 DAYS.

Wow 888...
I cannot remember when i felt this appreciated the last time...

I think this upsets me a lot more than simply winning nothing in the hand of the day draw...

I've had several emails from 888 about updated terms and conditions recently and the requirement to accept them to continue playing. I've never been able to work out what they mean, but then I don't bother with bonuses on any site. This one seems like a real empty gesture though. I don't think I would choose this room for my normal play based on their attitude. I only play the odd freeroll there and won't be spending any money with them.

If they continue on this path I think they'll go under. There's nothing good for players there from what I've seen.

There are rooms with much more reliable reviews, history, players and features. You definitely shouldn't get stuck in this room, friend ;)

Shortly after the new bonus policy came into effect I did find a workaround. It totally works, you can use your bonus and not lose any of your bankroll doing it.

I posted it in this thread...

https://www.cardschat.com/forum/poker-rooms-10/888-changing-bonus-policy-may-25-a-458381/

but I'll recap it here.

When you get a bonus you first use your bankroll to register for tournaments (make sure they don't start for at least several hours, I pick tourneys that don't start for at least 12 hours). After this your bankroll will be tied up and you can then use the bonus without affecting your bankroll.
When the bonus is gone, or you are done playing it for the time being, you simply unregister for those tournaments and restore your bankroll.

I've read the terms and conditions several times and there is nothing in them that prohibits doing this (I don't think they even thought of this loophole).

I posted pics of the step by step process from the first time I did it with a $10 casino bonus.

I had $15.60 cash and a $10 casino bonus, I registered for $15.60 worth of tourneys then used the bonus until there was just $0.03 left then unregistered for the tourneys...

Actually you got a bonus because of the promotion and in my case 888 forcefully credited me a $10 bonus yesterday as a compensation in Hand of the Day issues.
I did convert it into $40 cash by playing Cash games and in the last lost all where my Full house got beaten by a Higher full house on the River.
Do not regret about 1-2 Usd of bonus. Just lock your Real cash in a future tourney and use your bonus where you want.
