Help with 888 poker client!!! New to CardsChat

Hey,

So I wanted to sign up to Cards Chat and get some advice on an incident that has happened to me at 888poker client.

I was playing regularly at various stakes micro, low, medium and then I took some big losses and decided to personally close my account. My decision to close not 888 clients ok?

So anyway, a couple weeks go by - and of course I wanted to play again so I set up a new account with almost the same name - but before I deposited I spoke with the LIVE CHAT agent to specifically make sure that there would be no cause for concern in regards to the previously closed account associated with me.


And the LIVE CHAT agent - Saadique was his screen name - said YES you can set up the account and everything will be fine.

I of course, wanting to really confirm this wont be an issue rephrased the question to make sure there was no miscommunication and I said "So, I will be able to deposit and withdraw and just to the regular verification ID routine and start playing with no problems?"

The answer was yes. So I go ahead and toil away to deposit some funds.... I verify my ID and then I even get the "quick response verification confirmation" saying im ready to play. Last night I played some PLO 5 heads up for 5 dollar buy in and made some money....


NOW - this morning I wake up to this email.

Dear **leaving my name out**

This is the Operations Team at 888poker and we are contacting you with regards to your account with username "*********" <-- (my name is blocked for privacy.)

As this account is related to other account(s) that have been closed across our network, your membership has been suspended.

If you would like to discuss this matter further, please feel free to contact us.

We apologize for any inconvenience caused.

For further information please visit our FAQs here.

Please refrain from opening any new accounts with us, as these will also be closed and any deposits may not be returned.

So what can I do - I responded promptly and its been about 3 hours and still have not yet heard a response.... I had deposited 145 USD into the account! Only because the agent said this exact scenario would NOT OCCUR?

What happens to my funds? What happens to my account?

Contact the support buddy and explain everything to them; they should fix the situation quickly; me too had different issues with other poker platforms which i must say sometimes seems to me very strange that happens:rolleyes:. Also seems to me that some of their support employees aren't too professionals or they don't care too much about issues of the players.:cool:

Yeah that is the thing right. I am having a panic attack because that was all the money I had.

I contacted them and they are not even responding?! Granted its been only 4 hours. Does it usually take them a while to respond?

First, post in the thread that lulu linked. Second, why on earth would you deposit all the money you had on a poker site? You don't have to answer; I'm sure you realize that's a really bad idea. Thirdly, give them time. I can't imagine the volume of emails they must get.

First, post in the thread that lulu linked. Second, why on earth would you deposit all the money you had on a poker site? You don't have to answer; I'm sure you realize that's a really bad idea. Thirdly, give them time. I can't imagine the volume of emails they must get.

Well because poker is my passion man. I dont mind answering that question. I had 145 USD in my bank and so I put it all in the site because the Live Chat Agent said there would be no problems before I deposited. He reassured me that this exact situation would NOT happen. I specifically wanted to clarify that before depositing any funds and he says yes it will be fine.

Bad idea yes, and Im just stressed now so I hope this gets resolved properly. And if not, I hope they return my deposit at the least. But from what I've been reading these guys tend to close accounts and rob the money which is why I have severe anxiety now.

You have all to lose. I have been a PokerStar player for a long time and at one time I went to 888poker, I made some money in that account but I could never verify it because of an identity problem of the name registered by me in the account. I did everything pertinent to the case to be able to collect my money and in the process they blocked my account and I never had access to it. What I did was that I created another account, taking care not to make a mistake when writing the data, I verified it and it is the one I currently have. But that account was completely lost

Right but I got the confirmation from the employee in a live chat support convo his name was Saadique.... THATs my issue with all of this....

I was given the GO AHEAD to open the account and deposit.. The old account was closed by me because I suffered losses and took a break thinking I was done with poker.... But I came back.

So I specifically asked ARE YOU SURE THERE WILL BE NO PROBLEMS?

and the employee said yes you are fine

please read the post carefully.

Yes. Be patient.Takes them at least one day sometimes even more.

I cant even begin to explain the nervous/anxiety Im having jsut constantly opening my email to see if they have responded.

You will need to wait minimum 24h to get the response to your mail from them.Do not panic in worst case they will send your money back .I'm almost sure that they will not take your money Just be a little patient...

Yeah, 888 is a public company traded on the London Stock Exchange. They're not going to do anything illegal. If you violate the T&Cs, you violate the T&Cs. But sounds like you just need to wait. If their employee said it was fine, it's not your fault, if that's what really went down. If you don't hear back within say, 72 hours, then go to the support thread.

DO you know if they keep recordings of the chats?

Stupid me was so trusting that I didn't try to copy the chat for my own personal records... Would they keep the chat history?

Sorry, but I'm not sure. :( Do you remember the date and rough time? You might be able to request it. I'm in the US so I can't play on 888 so haven't had it installed in years. Otherwise I'd take a look. You might ask in the support thread.

Sorry, but I'm not sure. :( Do you remember the date and rough time? You might be able to request it. I'm in the US so I can't play on 888 so haven't had it installed in years. Otherwise I'd take a look. You might ask in the support thread.

Yes the date was yesterday, July 30th the exact time is difficult to say maybe between maybe 3pm - 4pm Moutain Time
