Having issues is an understatement. I have not been able to play on my desktop for almost 2 years, so this is a big handicap. My one neighbor upgraded or changed his wifi network somehow. For those of you that don't know what Geolocation is, it is how PS verifies that you are playing within state borders; which in this case is Pennsylvania. I am not allowed to play if I drove over the border to NY. So you need to have other visible WiFi signals to pass the Geo test, which I can no longer do now that my neighbor changed his network.

I have about 3 neighbors that live within 150-300 yards away. I don't need to use their networks, I only need to see them. I am hoping someone with more knowledge than me can solve this problem for me. This is a huge handicap. I can only see one tourney at a time and cannot effectively play more than 2 at a time, not to mention all the misclicks. I have been considering running a wired, large, wifi antenna up to my roof. There are also all kinds of devices available which I have little knowledge about. I am not trying to enhance my signal, I am merely trying to find other weak neighborhood signals. Perhaps something like this? I would love a little help guys. Appreciate it!!

I have had problems in Saskatchewan canada because my Internet provider is based in Ontario and randomly assigns IP numbers from locations throughout Canada. If the internet goes out for an extended period of time I sometimes log on to pokerstars and not be able to play because pokerstars thinks I am from Ontario. I then unplug the modem from the wall and wait 15 min and then plug in again. I sometimes have to do this a few times until I get assigned an IP number from a province other than Ontario.
I do however have a backup plan with my phone mobile hotspot. It works with my laptop but not my desktop. For some reason the desktop doesn't pick up the WiFi signal from my phone.
If you get decent cell service where you are I would suggest getting a data package for your phone and trying using mobile hotspot

I play on my mobile. I cannot play on my desktop using mobile hotspot because I do not pass Geolocation, even though I am in the state of PA.

If I understand it correctly, your computer need to see other WIFI networks than the one, you are connected to. In that case it seems to me like, the simplest solution would be to have two different internet providers yourself. Sure there is a cost to this, but if you are a winning player, you can just consider it as part of the cost of doing business and pick the cheapest one available. It would also give the extra benefit of having a backup, if you lose the connection from your regular provider in the middle of tournaments.

Who is stopping you from turning on VPN for any state of Canada of your choice and playing calmly, there is no problem here, you just invented it.

Playing using a VPN could get you banned. I would definitely recommend not trying that. There is just too much risk involved.

I would think that most likely you are being assigned IP outside the state border. You probably use your 5G network on your phone to play thats why you can play on the mobile.

I tried VPN on PS but it did not work, did not get banned just got a notification that the IP address was no good.

I would try another internet provider.

OP play on PokerStars Pennsylvania, and you can only play on that site while in Pennsylvania. You can not play from Canada or anywhere else in the world.

Sounds like GPS is turned off on your PC .
I can ask a friend who got a degree in Network technology and come back to you

Google "find my IP" .
This way you know for sure. If it doesn't say Pennsylvania I'd contact the provider

The poker client will not run with VPN running.

I live in a very rural area and my particular spot has not broadband options- only DSL. We do not currently have a phone line and the family refuses to get this service.

The only way to access internet from the desktop is broadcast a mobile hotspot from my mobile phone. I have 40GB and this works great, except for this geolocation issue. I really need a way to visualize other peoples WiFi networks.

My IP info states I am in Pennsylvania, but still cannot pass geolocation check.
