Plus why did pokerstars ban russian players and gg did not

Never used gg only pokerstars. I've been using it for years, mainly started back when then used to give out a lot of freebees when you deposit money, stuck around because I like the feel of it and for the freerolls

Never played on gg, but pokerstars is great, great GUI and easy to see everything

For what reason Russian players were not banned on the GG website, you need to ask on the website itself. Each site has its own policy.

Doesn't matter it seems, I see many Russians still playing that use a VPN to connect. Not sure how they will withdraw or deposit funds but imagine they have figured out a way using Bitcoin or some other alternate method.

GG Poker dont offer their services here in sweden, so for me the choise is pretty easy. According to this acticle GG Poker has actually pulled out of Russia or are at least planning to do it. I dont have any more updated info on the subject.

many regulars from Russia moved to Kazakhstan and other countries, so they still continue to play as they played only in another jurisdiction

almost all regulars who play plus simply combine the game on these two sites do not play on them at the same time only those players who, due to certain circumstances, are not accepted from their countries

Of course pokerstars, because it is already the largest and most famous poker room in the world, and also offers a lot of very valuable online tournaments.
Unfortunately I haven't tried GG Poker nor have I tried other poker rooms.
In addition, I see that 888Poker is the next poker room in terms of the same efficiency and fame and in terms of the number of participants

They are two wonderful sites, but very different.
Pokerstars covers a much wider range of players than GGPoker, not qualifying the player who plays medium and high tournaments and the micros have few opportunities.
Pokerstar is eclectic in this regard, as the demand at the micros is massive in comparison, but I prefer the GG software.

They are two good sites of the best, I play more on pokerstars because ggpoker gives me problems with the software due to my old cpu, but I would play in both at the same time I can't find the reason why I should choose only one being able to play in both

GG Poker is owned by GG International and is registered in the Isle of Man. The CEO is reported as Segii Romanenko, though in my opinion GG seem to prefer keeping matters confused.

GG Poker on its site claims it was founded in 2017. It wasn't, it was founded in 2014.

However the Good Game network targeted the Chinese and Asian markets for the first several years giving the appearance of being a Chinese company. Which of course is odd as online poker is illegal in China so they were acting in a grey area. Perhaps that is why they have rewritten their story to claim they were founded 3 years later when they started getting serious traction in Europe. In the same vein Negreanu now talks as if he has been there since inception and grew the site (he joined at the end of 2019). No doubt he has given the site a tremendous boost but he had never ventured near it early days.

That said, you have to admire the ambition. The idea even a few years ago that anyone would challenge PokerStars was unthinkable, but they have outgrown them already.

At least when it comes to volume on the main sites. But PokerStars also run a number of geographically limited sites, so combined the numbers are much closer to those of GG Poker. Also people tend to get very hung up on the number "players online", which is not a very good way to compare sites, since players can be logged on to a site without actually playing. But even with these cavaets GG Poker has become the main challenger to PokerStars, while ofter sites are left trailing far behind.

For me poker stars is way better than GG poker in almost everything. But the main reason is that PS offers better options for cashouts for my country than GG poker.

The ambition maybe but certainly not the way, they do business. The whole debacle with Dan Bilzerian is just ridiculous. And I have also heard a pro say, that even for him playing on the GG Poker software was kind of addictive, which is definitely bad from a responsible gaming perspective. Putin is also very ambitious, but that does not mean, we should admire or support him

I like play on PS more(tournaments, structure). But GG has a good software and good UI.

I admire anyone that can enter a market, establish themselves, gain market share and then become a market leader.

That could be anything from a new hotel chain, to a furniture maker or a clothing brand.

The thing is I am not an unconditional fan. I think the emoticons create a juvenile atmosphere. WTF! and YOU SUCK etc. are abrasive terms and some use that as a platform in chat to take things further. But, I can stand back, look at the entire arc from founding until today, hosting the WSOP events etc. and yeah, I admire what they have accomplished.
