I recently went to a live card room for the first time a couple months ago and thought I'd share the experience...
My buddies got me to go down the the Seminole Hard rock with them on my 19th birthday and I had some disposable income at the time so I decided to go. Got there and we got seated at the smallest NL table they had. $1/$2, so I would have to say I was really nervous. Not only was it my first time being there but I've never played anything over .25c/.50c. If that wasn't enough, I ended up getting the last seat left on the table which left me with a guy on my left who had about 10 times the table maximum sitting in front of him.
So I sat down with my measly $50 dollars and saw a few hands but didn't really get too involved because these guys had been raising and reraising each other like crazy. When I finally got a hand I ended up losing half my stack when my flopped straight got beat out on the river by a full house.
So then comes the good part...not as in winning any chips but avoiding losing the rest of my stack. The guy sitting next to me kept thinking I already folded and in turn went to muck his cards showing them to the table...AA's. I caught myself as I started for my chips to make a raise and he showed. So I probably dodged a few there.
All in all I ended up with a low of $16 dollars. Luckily within the next few hands I caught some cards and ended back up to $64. I decided to stop there as all my friends had lost their stacks already.
I think I played so bad because I was so nervous...since going back to play some $125 SnG's I haven't had a problem...just first time jitters I guess.
Anyone else had a nervous experience the first time they went to a casino?
and sorry this post is so long I just need to do some posting to catch up to you 1000 post people
