I've only played live a few times but it was a lot more fun live than online. There is a little more money coming out of your pockets for tips and what not but i think the drunken casino goers make up for it.

I enjoy playing both--although I don't risk as much online..Mostly play freerolls--once you get past the early jumpers--its a little more relaxing.
When playing live I prefer tournaments.

I prefer to play live tournaments. However, you just cant argue with getting to play at anytime for any amount and never leave the office/house

I prefer live games for sure ! You can better read the person ! In online games you can only bet in his style ! When you play live you can get more information about the person !

Live poker all the way baby. The thrill of abusing someones personality is just the most amazing feeling in the world. Although I don't get to play live enough so I have to abuse avatars instead :(

I don't have the money to go to AC. Plus I'm not thrilled with the possibility of losing my loot the first hour after driving an hour to get there. Scared money is dead money.

I'll take my money, 80 to 150 bucks, to a home game any time.

I like to play in the tavern games too. Eat, drink and be merry. I like the gift certificates and the t-shirts.

100% Live poker. cause when your online and your chips are really not "infront of you" people play so carless, and i think thats why there is more donks online, cause your money is not real untill you get that check. But when you play online you can just sit there and blaze and smoke cigs lol

In Person

I prefer to play in person. However, in Virginia Poker is not allowed. And, I am not in the loop for home games.

So, On Line Poker is my "Cup of Tea"

I much prefer playing in person. I play online just to get my fix, but I much prefer being able to see my opponents.

I prefer live as well. Agree totally count me in w/ a vote for LIVE play but I'll show some love for online poker by saying it's easier/relaxing and more comfy.

All other things being equal I'd MUCH rather play live. More "gamblers", more social interaction, the opportunity to try and read people, etc. Things are not equal of course - online you can always pick the type of game you want and jump in at any time, jump into several at once, play low/no stakes, no money spent on getting there and back, no temptations to buy food or drinks, etc.

i prefer to play live as theres more personal contact which is what i love about poker trying to read a player by there body posture the way they throw there chips in etc you just dont get that online... but i cant go a week (or a day for that matter) without a game so online gives me the fix

Hello,

On my mind, as I'm a "beginner" I prefer to play online, it is simpliest in a first time. That allows me to make some errors in my attitude without warning other players. Once I'll be more experienced again, then I would really like to try games in person so that starting to really play

Cheers guys, happy new year

I learned to play live at a couple of Indian casinos near Tucson, and have always preferred live play. Online play moves at a pace I don't like, it is not as social, and I find it too easy to be distracted by other shiny things on the internet :D. Now I either play in a local home game or drive up to Atlantic City for the day.

I do better when I play Live. More information available.
I like tournaments online because they move so much faster.
Maybe I should move closer to my local casino nothing like walking across the street to a live game at any hour of the day.

I like live a lot more due to the fact that there is more interaction with the other players, online sometimes gets a bit tedious and seems like a bit of a chore. So defo live is my favourite, however, online there is always action and you can play whenever you want.

Prefer live. Getting reads on other players' body language is invaluable. Also, as somebody else pointed out, people, most of whom have watched WAY too many final tables on wsop or WPT, don't go to poker rooms to fold. Since I don't drink, alcohol is also a factor, sometimes to the good, sometimes to the bad. And, as someone else also pointed out, the vast majority of the other players are really, really terrible.

However, since I live in Alaska, the nearest Casino is probably on a reservation somewhere in Washington State (not counting Dawson City, Yukon Territory), it's online and the occasional home game.

Playing online is kinda like watching a sporting event on television. It's nice, but wouldn't you rather be there live??
