Hey everybody!

When you encounter a poker player with a high badge like +10,10 does it make you play a little different than usual? Maybe play a little cautious against this particullar opponent? Or doesn't make a difference at all in your game?

Or maybe you just play with badges off? I can't see why that would be a good idea since your opponent is giving you free intel about his experience.

What's your thoughts about this?

I'm talking strictly about tournaments btw.

I don't share mine, I think there pointless. Just because one player has played 1M hands and the other 10k doesn't mean they are any better.

What is a cool idea is the badges for winning events

Some have been around for a very long time, donating their money.

Absolutely it makes me play them a little different. If someone has played 500000 real money hands, they know a few things about poker (probably a few things more than me) BUT I also take their play into consideration. It is a tool out there to be used, so I use it to my advantage. I do not display mine for the same reasons. No use showing anyone anything at all about me.

I don't change my style of play because of the badges, but I noticed that sometimes I play differently when I'm against a poker pro or playing in a important tournament. And it's usually for worse, so, I need to change this attitude.

I believe an experienced player will use this information very well. But for an inexperienced player it won't make much difference.

No, I don't pay attention to the badges or status of my opponents. I pay attention only to the decisions made and this is enough for me to form my strategy and game tactics.

I wish people would just use their favorite pocket pair. I would use 88 forever even if I had AA. I love the snowmen.

What do you really know other players? Is there human being even playing those hands? Someone with that type of codeing skills, that building bot is like taking self phone from the child...could easily be doing this. online poker is very much guessing hidden knoledge. Guessing.

But i dont know, maybe it wasnt so neccesary before then it is know.

For the lower hand badges I aggree but when you encounter someone who got the aces badge ,that would be 10 million hands played , it's safe to assume it's an experienced player.
I for my part never saw bad plays from players like that.
But of course HUD is more reliable to get an idea of their skills

That depends on your settings.

Select Options->Table View->Animations and set PRESTIGE.

From my experience and some minor testing, showing your badge does have an affect on people playing against opponents with high end ones. They are prone to play way more cautious and with some degree of "respect". But that's just generalizing it, so I don't really see a huge benefit in showing it, apart from a bit of self entitlement. The less information you give your opponents about yourself the better if you ask me. :)

Nothing changes these badges for me, I play as usual would play with any player so I think it's weird to pay attention to that

When I see a player with 88 badge or higher, I will immediately Sharkescope them because if they've played that many hands, it is reasonable to assume that there will be a lot of data on Sharkescope. That will give me a lot more information than just how many hands they've played.

Hello
I think the badges are cool, but they don't influence me. I play my game, I don't care about anything else :)

I saw it too.....but for me it is unimportant. The others also said that it is only the counter of the number of hands played.
And so? If my game and strategy are ok, why would it matter?

Some badges, yes. For example 10/10+ badges. Or badges that indicate that the player won one of the notable MTTs. Obviously it doesn't automatically mean they are crushing it but they get on my radar.

I will be honest and say that I do not know why people use such badges as they are just giving extra info about themselves, but I am not complaining.

The badges indicate volume, not skill. If you see a high number in a freeroll you have to consider why if the badge indicated skill, are they bothering to playa freeroll, where most of the results are down to bad judgement.
Players in freerolls only play what they see, you can seldom use your skill, to take them off a hand. You are usually reduced to playing at their level, relying on luck.
