Been getting into final tables lately on Bet online and just find the chat window toxic, I am naturally a conversive person and 99.9% of the time friendly, but I am done with the chat window lol. So if I don't respond on the freerolls, I am not being rude, I just do not see the text:)

Anyone else opt out of the chat option?

I never see anyones chat on ACR because I always have my position in the tournament open instead. On pokerstars I often have my HUD running which covers up the chat but Stars has a bubble pop up that I might have a chance to see even though my HUD blocks most of that but then I can know to look.

I think its understood by all but the new players that chat is mostly a thing of the past and its often simply not visible.

I usually have a few things going at the same time, so a chat in one game is often overlooked.

There is an internet poker radio site I like to do that has a running chat with contests and bounties that I like because everyone is friendly and a lot of people know the other players by first name. There are actually several, but you can find them pretty easily with an internet search if you want that kind of thing.

Not all the time though since sometimes chat can be even more intresting than the game itself lol ...

chat is distracting, when I play, I prefer to follow everything that happens at the table down to the smallest detail, this helps a lot to a successful game

If I let abusive chat bother me, it just shows immaturity. I laugh at some of it, cringe at some of it, but never get angry, or upset about any of it. Chat is so variable, one day there are 3 or 4 players chatting, and we have a great time, but most days chat is dull, and boring so I watch YouTube awaiting my turn. :D

P.S. As Zorba said, if this is happening on a Cardschat sponsored tourney, absolutely report it!

Yes, chat prevents me from being attentive. But the chat allows you to lull the opponent's vigilance. Everything is good in moderation. Sometimes you need to talk and be silent.

I think chat off is the best option. If you are a bot you are safe.

But if you are human, maybe sometimes you are like me and feel the need to express your thoughts (or even emotions) in the chat.

Other times it's fun to read what other players are saying, it's not always toxic. Sometimes you even find a player to actually chat about the game or whatever in a good way. So, it's personal for each of us.

I always have the chat window closed unless I'm playing with friends.
