Best poker room?
What is the best poker room with a good balance between freerolls and big prizes when it comes to tournaments?
I mostly play on pokerstars because it was my first site I started on, but it fells like there are too any people on it, any suggestions of a poker room with a smaller number of players and with good enough money prizes that is worth playing on?
Next best is the PartyPoker. But smaller poker rooms I have been visiting more and more recently. Like iPoker network for example.
I wouldnt suggest 888 - my personal antipathy though, I know a lot of players play there.
I built a bankroll from nothing on Coral poker. However I am suspicious now because I haven't cashed in a game for months, whereas there are a lot of bad players who always beat my strong hands. I am convince it is because I am not a depositing player.
I have gone back to pokerstars for cash games. I had success on MPN network but that is closing as well
If you choose number of online players, the quality of software, the variety of game disciplines, the the absolute leader on market the Pokerstars. But lately, Party Poker and GGPokerok are gaining momentum; they are not far behind with shares on rackeback.
whilst i love the big tourneys and prizepools on stars its so hard to beat a 1000+ tourney for 10+ hours all the time. I am starting to prefer smaller cardrooms where you can win a touney in 3-4 hours and the plays a bit more lively than the set mining on the Stars games.
ACR i like but sometimes the late reg is like 5 hours on some tourneys. GG network has some great fast games but they are expensive to enter so Im trying Ipoker and some other smaller networks for tournaments. Party poker has a great structures but they have too many games - if they ran half the tourneys and doubled the guarantees i would play there more.
Im giving I poker another spin but they dont have many big payout tourneys but the games are loose at the lower stakes.
I wish a site would "specialise" tournament poker and bring back freezeouts with no late regs/re-entrys seems like almost all sites care more about rake and hitting garuntees so a lot of tourneys cost way more than advertised or are donk fests at end of registration. But I also wish it was 2006 and I wasnt going bald like now
I believe 888poker has many good offers for the micros , get the sat ticket easily and play for tournaments , almost for free !!!!
Ofcourse I think everyone should play on every well known (that also proceeds the withdrawals with no problems) site , seeking for every good promotion . So play ACR , PartyPoker , other pokerrooms , see every month what is being offered and if this is actually a good opportunity
Everyone knows PokerStars , for the big tournament prizes , but unfortunatelly you have to take into consideration the great amount of sharks or advanced reg players that play there , also in the past it had more/better freerolls and better rakeback ....
Well, this is not a valid question. For different players, different poker rooms are the best, I personally love freerolls because I play poker match. but according to the software, of course, the stars are the best.
I'm wondering guys, I'm having trouble commiting to a poker site to be honest and just wanted your opinion on the matter. I have played on Full Tilt Poker, Party Poker and GG Poker quite alot. I feel FTP is so hard to crush due to the behemoth player field size, making variance a huge constant, especially in low stakes which is where I feel comfortable playing at the moment. Party Poker is definitely alot of fun, and doesn't have the massive fields FTP does, which is great but I personally prefer freeze out tournaments to bounty tournaments and bounties seem to be much more prevalent on Party Poker at my stake levels unfortunately. GG poker is an awesome new upcoming site for us Europeans at least I feel and has great opportunities for daily $5-10 MTTs which I love, but it's very hard to study HH reviews, for example HRC doesn't even support loading files from notepad, as they need more hands to update their software. Which makes it much more difficult to study, but it is possible to convey hands to HM3 which is ok. I would appreciate your opinions on this matter.
I don't see a reason to really commit to any site. In my opinion, there are no sites that would actually reward loyalty, so the site that gives you the best monetary value at the time you choose to play should be the best option.
As a European there are also the tax issues to consider. At least in my country winnings from a site that operate under certain licenses are tax free. But Asian, American, and sites who's licence is hard to verify, that is a big no no for me.
If you want to commit just to one site that is fine. Just read every site's TOS carefully before depositing. Poker sites are not banks, and if you feel the need to withdraw money before you have used it to play first things might get tricky.
FTP hasn't been around for awhile.
Stars still has by far the biggest player numbers... but in lower buyins the tourney fees are higher
Partypoker seems to be going in the right direction. Their software is still lacking but it's lightyears better than it was a few years ago (when it still REALLY sucked).
I'm just getting going on MTT's again and myself I'm planning on 'adding another site'... and then another & another. I want to play on ALL of the ones I'm able to play on. This way I can play in many tournaments of similar buyin & structure at the same time(s). I'm even looking to play a bunch on the US-friendly sites
I'd suggest playing on all of them
I'm just thinking about this in terms of bankroll management. I don't think it's prudent to have my bankroll in 3 different platforms, which is why I'm trying to choose one.
Actually spreading your funds could even be seen as a form of risk management, if a poker site goes down, choose to ban your account for whatever reason, or you face problems with withdrawing. Having to move funds around, if you run hot on one site but cold on another, is somewhat inconvenient but not impossible. And if you use slightly more conservative bankroll management, it will not be needed very often if at all.
I am all about bankroll management, but live poker players also dont bring their entire bankroll, every time they go to a casino. So as long as you know, the money is there and reserved for poker, it should not be a big deal to for instance play 10NL cash games with 100-150$ in the cashier.
Thanks for the reply guys, much appreciated. I've decided to stick with Party Poker for the time being. The massive Full Tilt Poker tournaments, although many at my buy in level are fun, I just don't really like the massive variance swings. GG poker might be great in the future but I think PP is the best option for me at this time. Thanks again !
Hey there :O) I think you should play on a site that has good flow the more the merrier, and of course one that is fun and that suites you :O) I am pretty new to this so not sure on to many but I play at two right now and they are Black Chip Poker where I play most, they have lots of freerolls everyday and lots of players. Also I play at BetOnLine, I bet on sports there more then I play poker. But I really like both sites plus CardsChat has freerolls on both sites which makes these sites even cooler :O)
