JuiceeQ and I are starting a Banned Poker list. She will be able to edit the first(original) list.(because she's the WONDER MOD) So I gave it a go on starting us off here.

You guys let us know what rooms should be on the BANNED list. What rooms should be on the ALLOWED LIST. And which rooms are UNDECIDED. These lists are just the start, if a room needs to be changed to the other list, let us know.

When posting here to tell us about a room that is "BANNED","ALLOWED", or "UNDECIDED" please post the E-mail or link to where you found out the information!

Since this is the second go-round with this (someone deleted the previous one in a freak accident--can't imagine who...), if you see any discrepancies in the lists above, please post here.

Also, when posting sites to be added, please copy/paste the email you received from the site, as we want this to be as official as possible. Thanks all!

Please keep in mind that as I update your responses into the original thread above, I will be deleting the posts so we can keep this thread clutter free.

Updates/Category Add-ons, Deletions

At the suggestion of Egon, I've added a section for payment processers, or online banks. So far, I've only seen information for neteller and FirePay, so if any of you use any other forms of online banking--i.e. Moneybookers, Citadel, etc.--please let us know if you hear anything.

I've also decided to delete the "Undecided" category. I don't see much point in it. A site is either banning US players, or they're not. We'll add them in the appropriate spot as we get word.

Thanks again everyone!

See this thread:

[old link~tb]

Although Pacific do not now accept new deposits from U.S. players, they are evidently happy for you to continue playing if you have a BR there already.

This is a much more friendly approach than most of the other sites on the banned list.

I've moved them to the allow list with a link to the thread mentioned above.

I saw this on the PokerRoom.com site. Aother one bites the dust.

PokerRoom.com said:
Important announcement to US players

U.S. Restrictions On September 30th 2006 the U.S. Congress passed the SAFE Port Act which also contained certain provisions known as the Unlawful Internet Gambling Enforcement Act of 2006 that affects the processing of payments between U.S. customers and online gaming companies. The legislation was signed into law by President George W Bush on October 13th 2006.

We regret that the U.S. has taken this step to make it virtually impossible to offer real money entertainment to U.S. customers. It is doubtful that the U.S. authorities will achieve their stated goals by introducing such legislation. We believe that a properly monitored forward-looking regulation would be much more effective than this general ban.

Entirely due to this new law, we are disappointed to announce the following restrictions for all customers within the U.S.:

Depositing Restrictions

As officially stated before we have been working on a technical solution to restrict all customers within the U.S. from depositing new funds at PokerRoom.com. This solution will be implemented on October 25th.

Real Money Restrictions

We will have implemented the technical solution to restrict all customers within the U.S. from accessing our real money games starting Monday, November 6th. After that time you will still be able to login to PokerRoom.com, enjoy all of our play money games and withdraw funds from your account at your convenience.

I read about this at an online news site--went to the Neteller page for confirmation (under "Important Service Update for US Members):

Effective Immediately
Due to recent US legislative changes and events, effective immediately, US members are no longer able to transfer funds to or from any online gambling sites.
All US members will continue to be able to use their NETELLER e-wallet account to safely transfer funds to and from non-gambling merchants and are not required to close their account or withdraw their funds.

Apparently they can't even process withdrawls right now. Glad I got my money out when I did

Your Help is Needed

I've done a bit of updating...I would appreciate any help from you all in getting us information regarding payment processors/online banks. Again, official word (i.e. copy/paste email, etc.) is ideal. Many thanks! :)

FYI, this wasn't from poker stars changing the rules, it was from the banks themselves. Poker Stars and all other sites have simply been forced to comply.

WireCard has decided not to allow US residents to deposit funds to any gambling website...
Did you receive official confirmation of this? If so could you please post here? Thanks. :)

(ok i'm a newbie so vry sry if i'm posting this in wrong place)

I noticed GamesGrid listed under "Doing Business As Usual." Received the following notice from them this morning (edited for length):

From:
GamesGrid <shoutout@gamesgrid-mail.com>
Subject:
Important notices regarding GamesGrid

Important notices regarding GamesGrid

Dear Valued Player,

We have recently experienced some unexpected technical issues which required immediate attention. The problem has been resolved, however a NEW version of our Poker client is required. Please accept our sincere apologies for the inconvenience.<<SNIP>>

Further to this, due to recent changes in the US legislation, we regret that we can no longer continue to allow US players access to our money tables. All players who have an account registered with a US country code will no longer have access to our money tables, however will still be allowed access to our free money tables.

GamesGrid

Have to say it's getting harder and harder for us US-based Mac-users to find a game. ::sigh::

I had a recent email from Wingows. It was a general newlstter, but there was a line in it which confirmed that they still accept US players. Stupidly, I deleted it before realising I should copy it for this thread.

Thank you, dear lady. :)

Actually, it`s strange none of us realised before this that Wingows should be on the allowed list. We played in the Online Forum Challenge there last month and I know for a fact that several of our American regulars play there.

Pacific Poker

I recently downloaded Pacific Poker's client. In the last step of creating my account I was refused because I had a U.S. IP address. Having read the thread, my guess is that maybe Pac. Poker is not banning existing U.S. players but is not allowing any new ones. Has anyone encountered anything similar? Any thoughts?

The situation with Pacific (as I understand it) is that you cannot open a new account or make a new deposit if you are an American but, if you have an account which existed before the new legislation was signed, you may continue to play with whatever funds are in it.
