I am wondering why I do better in tournaments on ACR than I do on Bovada/ignition. I've read that ACR is harder in cash games because of nitty hud using regs which I guess I agree with. I get cooled all the time on Ignition/Bovada (same software and tourneys and the brand new update is beautiful on Bovada/Ignition)

I feel like the way the cards are dealt on ACR is much much more realistic. I have read before that cash games are better on Bovada/Ignition and I would have to agree with that. I win at the cash games regularly on there.

But I do not do as well on tournaments on Bovada/Ignition and conversely do not do as well on ACR's cash games.

Why though, does it seem that tournament play is better on ACR and cash games are better on Ignition/Bovada? I've been spinning my head around trying to come up with a logical answer.

Well, it is possible, what you suggest, that cash games are harder on ACR and tournaments on Bovada. I'm of the opinion that cash games benefit more from having HUD stats, so that would explain why cash would be harder on ACR.

But another possibility is just variance. Like, if you've played 20,000 cash hands on each site, you probably should have an idea if you're a winning or losing player, but you still may not know which site is actually more profitable for you given that your results could be thrown off by a mere 10 so hands were you either got very lucky or very unlucky.

Same logic is going to apply to tournaments, especially MTTs.

Ya, I certainly always do well for a majority of whatever tournament Im playing. It always comes down to making one bad call then its down the drain. I guess I need to work on laying back at the later stages and final table. Later in the tournament its always a shove fest or one guy raises and everyone folds. And it goes on like that forever and ever. So i usually get tired of it and loosen up my all in-calling range to say a KJo because I want the tournament to progress which results in me going for the kill. I see people going all in over and over so I think that they have maybe a K8o or some kind of marginal hand with an overcard out of desperation. That has been my downfall lately. I just get so irriated when an hour goes by and no one gets to see one single flop. I think that I would be a very consistently winning player if I could crack the code on this part of the tournament. I always play poker better than most at the table up until the point where its an all in fest where its not really poker anymore its luck vs luck. I’ve only played one live tournament a long time ago and didnt make it too far, but I don’t think the late stage all in every hand phenomenon would be as drastic in a live tournament.

I have a hud, but I strictly use it to do the leak analysis on myself. I move the little screens off to where I cant see them because I want to train my mind to do what a hud does so that I will have that skill set for live which I intend to transition to once I have the roll for it.

They are dealt the same at the other sites. :)

I thought the gameplay on both is related and using the same format and players?

Players on Bovada play a lot more loose and sporadic compared to ACR. You will see a lot of strange plays on there at times. It's annoying that the games are anonymous because by the time that you may find out that someone plays poorly or makes aggressive moves from time to time it might be too late to react.

Bovada/ACR

I played for years at Bovada and recently uninstalled it. To me, the new software was laggy, very slow. The graphics to me are terrible. I find the graphics, interface and speed at ACR to be alot better. Bovada has a serious software issue- popup boxes will suddenly appear in the middle of a game and you get kicked out and unable to re-enter. Sometimes they refund the buy-in, sometimes they don't. It's very tilting.

There's the anonymity factor on Bovada/ignition: no one has nametags. So therefore players take advantage of this by playing very loose and aggressive since no one can keep notes /tabs on them. There's also a huge difference in skill between the players in microstakes which are the 1-7$ buy in tourneys at Bovada and the low stakes, which are the tourneys starting at 10$. A standard shove/ fold game easily helps me FT the microstakes because most of the players are fish so their calling/ shoving range is messy. But starting at the 10$ tables, players are a lot more loose and tricky. I noticed immediately that it's impossible to multitable the low stakes tourneys at Bovada/ignition because everyone's very active for one, and also a lot more loose and trickier as they're taking advantage of the anonymity factor.
