Ok just wondering how many of you have done this? did you win or lose? I have done it 3 times, less than $1 risk, every time picked black, lost every time. Im not screaming fixed just wondering has anyone had luck doing this? BTW the probability is 50/50 every time but the probability of losing 3 times in a row picking the same color is 12%. again i know i was in the 12% that lose. not crying fixed.

Never could bring myself to do this. I don't like the gamble. I found a way to disable it in the settings. :)

Actuallly I think you are mistaken. Each flip is 50/50, the previous flip had no bearing on the next. It’s been a long time since I studied math and probability in school but I vaguely remember this problem. Although it’s unlikely to flip the same side many more times than the other, it’s all relative to each individual flip. The color will be one or the other. So it’s always 50% either way. The previous flip is irrelevant.

Never even thought about trying this. Because what's the point of studying and playing poker if you are willing to gamble everything on a coin flip?

Yes as I said each event is 50/50. but the probability of three events all being black are 12% here are the likely outcomes BBB BRB BBR RBB RBR BRR RRB and RRR 8 different possibilities or 12.5% probability that BBB will happen. I'm an exprogrammer math is kind of my thing.

I have tried it a couple times myself, also for $1 or so. I have won at least once. I can't imagine trying it for anything big.

My opinion

I usually place about fifteenth. The payout isn't that good so I double up. I have doubled to twenty bucks and even forty bucks one time. The problem with the double up is the damn joker. Got the joker three times. Its an automatic loss.

the house likely has a edge not 50 50 also it is a suicide structure. If someone wins the $5m guarantee MTT in July they should double their money to break the house lol.

Relative:
If your half way to a buy-in goal, why not?

Considering most winnings will be long term. Unless your going through a ridiculous heater or going to win a big tourney, how are you going make enough profit for it to mean something? 4 times in a row? For what when you can play a SNG, unless your talking about pennies.

I was thinking the same thing. Why would they take the trouble to come up with and add it as an option if it was truly 50/50, there would be no benefit for the time and effort to create and implement this.

I did it three times in the last week. Every time, I chose a red color. I was lucky and managed to double the amount. It is fun, but it is more like a casino.

Never tried it. So i guess there are two jokers which gives the house a slight advantage like roulette?

I try to stick to betting, (using some skill), playing a coin flip (red/black), is just gambling. I wish that I knew how to get it to go away, afraid that I will accidentally click on it some day.

I did this a few times when i was only cashing less than $0.50. I think I won twice and lost once. Now I figure what is the point of playing a tournament for 3+ hrs if I am just going to throw it away, so I have stopped.

As for the math problem. Is it truly 50/50 or are the odds of losing three in a row truly 1 in 8?

This is really about perspective. If you could place a single bet on the outcome of 3 50/50 coin flips, then yes, you might only lose 1 in 8 times by betting that you would NOT get RRR. But in this example you are making individual bets on individual flips, and each individual flip is always going to be 50% with no consideration of past or future flips.

Does anyone know about the 3 of a kind slot spin to get into a tournament? I've tried it a few times and haven't won yet.

It's too hard to make the money to risk it on something where the deck may be more likely stacked against you.

If your wife has such a lucky hand you may consider renting her services.
You could easy get 20-40% of profit and take only the customers that won over $50.
