I open this thread to share what seems to me total nonsense on the part of the 888 bonus policy.

When you get a bonus you have to generate certain bonus points to be able to release and withdraw that money. Bonus points are generated through rake. For every dollar you want to release you have to generate 3.5 bonus points. In 888 Poker, the bonus points are equal to 20% of the amount played. So to free $1 you need to play $17.5.

These conditions are ridiculous but that is not the scam.

The only way to generate bonus points is by using bonus money, not the "real" money you deposited. And the only way to use the bonus money is once the real money runs out.

Because if you withdraw the real money in order to use the bonus money, then the bonuses disappear and the winnings associated with it.

So if you really want to unlock a bonus, in addition to meeting those ridiculous rake requirements, you have to lose the money you deposited.

The worst thing is that I found out about this scam not through a deposit, but through a transferred money that became "bonus money", because it is established in the terms and conditions.

The conditions to unlock the transferred money are a little lower, 1 bonus point for $1, so I have to play $5 to unlock every $1. But I can't unlock it anyway because I have real funds that don't accumulate points.

And they tell me in the support that if I withdraw my real funds I can lose my transferred funds.

That is the scam. It is established in its policy, but it is no less scandalous for that.

Yes its a scam. I already confronted 888 rep with this in the official 888 thread if you want to read the discussion.

Well Actually 888 has done this change to favour cash players and to remove few flaws in their previous bonus policy.
Like there was a flaw- when we were playing a Heads up game by using Bonus money, the winnings generated were counted into Real Cash.
So the Players like me used that bonus policy into our favour very easily.
In my case I did able to convert my Casino freeplay into poker bonus by requesting it to 888 care.

As for bonuses, I agree with you. Nevertheless, this site has a large number of good freerolls and other interesting promotions, thanks to which you can easily build a bankroll. I believe that this site has more advantages than disadvantages.

Luckily I don't care about bonuses and stopped caring when I found out how much rake I needed to generate in order to release the bonus and then withdraw my money from any online poker room. For me this is a complete waste of money and time and I wouldn't be surprised if 888Poker or any other online poker room, like intertops Poker, for an example, introduces more strict policies regarding their bonuses.

I never once have made a deposit on 888 poker and for some reason I am a bit relectunt to do a deposit first time to receive all these bonuses. Then when I withdraw do i find I have to use all the bonuses first before doing I withdraw? For now I just haven't bothered yet.

Anyone figure out how to get around this BS? I've got a $20 bonus that is going to expire because I sure as hell am not gambling with my $455 bankroll just to get another $20. Very annoying and stupid scam policy.

I honestly did not know about that, so it is highly recommended for new players to be very well informed about this topic of bonuses. Luckily there is a wide variety of rooms where we can start our poker career.

Interesting to know that since 2020 is like this and I'm surprised that it did not had any changes since then. I used to play a tournament there that was $1k sports freeroll, but recently they changed to $500 sports freeroll that instead of real money they pay in sports bonus. And it's the same thing, you can't clear the bonus with your own real money, you can only clear using the bonus money and you can only play with the bonus money if you don't have any money at all. Of course I never play that tournament again and don't care at all for bonus in that site. I still play there because I like their other promotions.

As far as I know, 888 bonuses have been awarded in cash for a long time, without the need to wager. and I didn’t use them before, because you really need to have 0 on your account in order to use them. does not make sense if you play for cash.

After moving to sweden I am not allowed to get bonuses anyway, so I was not really affected by the changes 888 did back in 2020. However I did get a few dollars as a compensation for someone allegedly cheating in one or more tournaments, I took part in, and even this was credited as a bonus. Since I had no intention to lose all the money sitting in my account to get a 2-3$ compensation for being cheated, I never cleared it, and it eventually disappeared from my account again. I do like 888 Poker in general, but I have to agree, that this new bonus policy from 2020 is as ridiculous, and anything in the poker world can get :)

Well I am stuck here and I fell into the trap!

I played one of the WC freerolls and I got a $2 sport bonus. After reading the rules I thought it was clear to me, you had to wager 6x the bonus amount with min odds of 1.50.

I have around $155 of real money. So after wagering around $30 in the Sports book, I checked the bonus bar and it was stuck in the middle, not cleared.

I sent support a mail and after waiting for a week they send me this reply

"I've checked your account and I can see that you have that bonus balance of 2 USD and another 155.42 USD in real cash funds.

In our Bonus Policy it states that: "If you have both Available Funds and Restricted Funds in your account, the next wager you make will use Available Funds first. Restricted Funds will only be used once your Available Funds balance is zero."

So all of your bets were made using real cash funds and that's the reason why the wagering bar isn't updating."

Can you believe that ? ??

So they want me to lose $155 first to clear a $2 bonus?

I have asked them to remove the bonus , I am worried they will stop me to withdraw my real money balance that I earned through poker tournaments mostly, but also some sports bets there.

I am in shock right now and waiting for an update.

That's nuts!

Yes imagine if I had $1500 on my account and I could not withdraw it because my balance must be zero to clear a $2 bonus ?

I will not use the word S because I have been a loyal customer to 888 for more than 10 years, but this is crazy. I even read the rules for wagering the bonus. Then they cover themselves behind the terms.

in fact, I don't understand why 888 does things that repel players, although it's their business...
as for bonuses, I just want to tell everyone, when you click on the "withdraw money" button at the checkout and a warning comes out that you will lose bonus money, do not pay attention to it and withdraw money, it is very difficult to win back the bonus

Crazy, bad enough that they pay winnings in sport bonus (I have $4 I havent even bothered trying to turn into real money as I will inevitably lose more sports betting!!!) but to place the bets and find they don't count is ludicrous.

When I first signed up to 888 they had great promos but all this supposed bonus turned to nothing with rake requriements and all the other hoops you need to jump through. This and what you have written certainly puts me off 888.

Update :

After a couple of mails 888 support agreed to remove the amazing $2 bonus, so I do not have to get rid of my balance of $155 first

I have nothing against the poker offers and freerolls, just stay away if it is a bonus prize. ......
