Hi everyone,

I'm relatively new here but I guess is the right place to share my experience.

Recently I open an account in 888 in germany that is connected to the global 888 network and for around 2 months I was grinding to move up in stakes and everything's was going well until the last update where 888 start to apply the currency exchange rate that basically rip-off my bankroll.

At the beginning and how should be the exchange rate convert my total bankroll in dollars to euros but recently they are doing the opposite, my balance in euros is fixed and the balance in dollars are changing everyday. This doesn't make sense once I'm playing in dollars and every buy-in is also in dollars.

Example : my bankroll yesterday was 192.10 dollars or 175.04 euros after the conversion. Today my bankroll is 190.89 dollars or 175.04 euros and not 192.10 dollars and 176 euros. Means that since the euro value is falling compared to dollar they push me to a mandatory update where the things are going in their way and against me.

So since the update from 31 March I already have around 7 dollars less in my account because the are using the euro as reference to convert my entire bankroll but again, I'm playing in dollars and not euros.

After contact their customer service no one can really tell me what is going on and the worst is that they make of me stupid saying that was always like this.

Any comment regarding this subject or recommendation!?!

Grateful in advance to all of you.

Regards

Its likely a result of local regulations, that the balance must be kept in your own currency. In am living in sweden, and my 888 balance is also in SEK. Which I actually think is good, because it prevent 888 from "skimming" me on the exchange rate, every time I deposit or withdraw, as for instance pokerstars is doing. If I deposit 1.000 SEK on 888 Poker and withdraw my money a week later, I get excatly 1.000 SEK back, and they dont even charge a processing fee. Of course the dollar value of my bankroll then goes up and down depending on the exchange rate between USD and SEK, but I dont see this as a problem at all.
