Hey! In any case, the decision is yours and you can only listen or not to some recommendations from other players. You need your own strategy based on your deposit. Calculate your risk management and play those tables where you think you are doing best. Always control your bankroll management and start small, do not rush to raise rates. Gifts from the chests you will receive for the accumulated points, the more you play at the tables for real money, the more points you get. Good luck! :)

Start small (micro stakes) and find your own path. Identify the games you have an edge in and play those the most.

Good luck!

I recommend 2.20 regular speed mtts, u have almost 100 buy ins which is pretty okay to not bust bankroll in regular speed tourneys.
Play good, run good and good luck at the tables!

It's a matter of personal preference. I'd recommend SNGs or cash games. Both offer steady ROI. Large MTTs have more variance but offer greater upside.

dont do everything, as I am new too for online play. I am sticking with only a couple formats in order to focus and track.

Take notes and analyse your hands after too.

try small stakes heads up games, and small MTTs to start with. or 6 hand or 9 hand games. either way, focus on a couple only

I used to have an edge at heads up cash games but now on pokerstars it has become a zoom table thing so any recommendations ?

if you are good in heads up then probably you can play SNG. But there are a lot of others tournaments which you can try and see how it works for you.

Play where you feel more comfortable and where you have obtained more win in the past if it is head to head well play more that, if they are the STT focus on that if it is not holdem it can be Omaha, 5 cards draw, etc ... my advice play where you feel more comfortable doing it

You have to play on those tables on which success is conducive to you. No one can give you recommendations where to play better. You choose. And most importantly, follow the bankroll rule and do not rush to raise rates.

You are not going to make "a reasonable profit every month" with a bankroll of only 200$, so your goal in the beginning should be to practice, hopefully grow the role, and also find the games, that suit you best.

If I have to stick my neck out, I think, MTTs are the easiest ways to make money in online poker. But you need to have the time to play them. A tournament like the 2,2$ "big" on PokerStars will last for up to 8 hours.

Start with inexpensive entrances ($ 2-5), but take the time to devastate your bankroll with expensive entrances after a few winnings. Personally, I love Sit N Go tournaments with 9 players. Choose you anyway) I wish you a positive balance on the bankroll)

There are not a lot of bonuses on Pokerstars. If they didn't send to your email with some bonus code, then be sure nothing is available for you at the moment. They are not very generous. Also you can check "challenges" tab and see whether there is something that interest you among there current promos.

As for chests - that's PS rakeback system. Basically by generating rake you will get points, you get 1 point, per 1 cent rake paid. Once you complete a progress bar, you will get a chest with rewards (as a rule, don't expect much). There are different levels of chests with different rewards in them. More info on chest you can read at their site: https://www.pokerstars.com/help/categories/en-vip-club/
And don't be surprised if the same chest level will cost you a different amount of points out of nowhere :hahaha:

Even though its risky recommend playing $20 buy ins as the rake is too high for smaller buy ins good luck.

To understand which game is right for you, one knowledge of the rules is not enough, you need to look for what you like and where you will understand all the subtleties of the game. I never knew pineapple about poker, but after trying it fell in love with this game. I wish you good luck. Search and find out

I actually made a similar goal a while back, I deposited 100 dollars and tried to get profit from it.
Even though most people advice you to play micro games, and it sounds obvious because you have about 100 2.20 buy ins, I would actually advice against it. Even if you manage to get into the money in a 2.20 tournament, you really don't get much profit unless you get in the top 10, ranking lower than that will only net you twice or three times your origianl buy in.

I actually made the most money by playing a 27 buy in. If you get in the money, you will win a substantial amount... sure you may lose, but then again, we are here to gamble.

Very different perspectives in this thread. Fun!

I do not agree as someone said that MTTs are the easiest way to make a profit. They are very high variance - you might score huge but you will lose most of the time.

I would suggest micro/small stakes cash and sit'n'gos for slower but steady ROI.

But of course, it also depends on what you consider your strengths as a player. If you think MTTs are your best game, go for it.

I like this! Why not, right?

Typically I am very aggressive with BRM while my roll is small (it's easy to replace/replenish). As the BR grows, then we start scaling back and being a bit more conservative with game selection.

Good point!

I used to do really good on pokerstars with a $100 bankroll.

$5 sng, low stakes tourneys, and leaderboard bonus= maintained a positive ROI consistently

play tight, bubble is everything
