I made a deposit on the new bwin last night which has now merged with the party network. After playing a few hands my account got blocked and I'm awaiting a response from bwin.

I have an account on party poker which I haven't used since before Christmas, I've just moved my money from Full Tilt to take advantage of bwin's welcome bonus and didn't realize this could be an issue. I understand the two sites operate on the same network but thought it would be ok to set-up a new account on bwin to take advantage of the rakeback bonus?

Another thing that is worrying me is, my wife has a party poker account also which she very rarely plays but whilst I was waiting for my withdrawl to clear from Full Tilt I've been playing on her account. After reading up on the internet about what the issue could be I'm now worried after reading horror stories of accounts being closed and money confiscated!

I can honestly 100%, hand on heart, say that I/we have never ran both clients together - I'm not even sure if that's possible, like I said I've been playing on different networks for the past 6 months. Certainly no collosion has gone on, all I wanted was the 100% bonus rakeback bwin were offering. If I knew this would be an issue I would have put my money elsewhere.

Another reason I thought this would be ok is because I watch training videos on youtube by a guy called Gripsed (who I believe is also an affiliate of bwin). In his earlier videos he did a bankroll challenge at party poker but now he has carried on that challenge at bwin. He said bwin was the next big thing with their merge to the party network. Obviously he hasn't had issues with a separate account on each site.

Accounts on both bwin and Party is fine. The reason for the block is much more likely your wife's account. It should be a problem, you just need to explain that both you and your wife play online poker, but never at the same time etc.

Well that's good to know, I'm glad you cleared that up for me. I have contacted them and told them about having an account on Party Poker and told them I haven't used it for 6 months.

I didn't mention my wifes account but if they require ID for us both then I can obviously provide that information. I've just been reading about depositing on multiple accounts which I did on my Party account and my wifes Party account. On that occasion they rang her up and she explained I had deposited for her, they allowed this at the time but said if she ever wanted to deposit again she should do so using her paypal/bank account.

I've got a feeling this could also be the issue as I've used the same deposit method for bwin, probably nothing to worry about and it can be rectified with ID's. It's just when you read all the horror stories on the internet!

I actually asked support on this. I have old bwin accout, used still from time to time for sports bets. This year I have created party-poker account. And shortly after that, bwin merged to same network. According support I can have both account. Client will not let you start both clients on same PC, but of course you can start them on different PCs and you will be able to login to both bwin and party. For me, I just keep using both accounts. Im just carefull not to join same tournament from both accounts (like some freerolls etc.)

Oh right, I didn't realize you could use both accounts on separate computers, I did actually wonder what would happen if we both wanted to play at the same time, now we both have active accounts on the same network.

I just thought we wouldn't be able to play at the same time and would have to take turns (that's if she ever plays again because she very rarely does).

Just need to be aware not to play in the same games as each other, which won't happen because she isn't rolled as high as me anyway.

I hope I get an answer soon, I'm missing playing, even though it's only been 24 hours lol!

Just been reading through their terms and conditions and I think the issue is that I've set-up 2 separate accounts on bwin. I didn't realize this was an issue and have only deposited on the latest account anyway. I have 2 accounts on other poker sites but only used one for real money

Surely they don't have grounds to confiscate my money because of this? Will it will just be a case of closing the first account down?

Yeah good thinking. I've contacted them again, this is my email to them. They replied straight away assuring me that they've forwarded it to the investigations department and apologised for any inconvenience caused.....

Hi there,

My account is currently under investigation and after reading through your terms and conditions I think I now know why.

I have 2 accounts with bwin, I didn't realise this was even an issue. I only wanted one of the accounts for poker play money games and the other for poker real money games. I never had any intention of depositing funds on to both accounts.

I have 2 accounts on other poker sites such as 888.com and Full Tilt for the same reason and it has never been an issue before. I "assumed" this wouldn't be a problem on bwin either, obviously my mistake and I should have read the terms and conditions before doing so.

I thought it would in my best interest to email and explain my reasons for opening 2 accounts; it was purely as simple as the reasons given. I hope this issue can be resolved soon and I sincerely apologise for any problems I have caused.

Could you please forward this to the department which is dealing with this case?

Thank you once again.

Thanks. I'll keep the thread updated with the result and whether they resolve the issue fairly.

i've never heard of any pokersite that will let you deposit onto someone else's account. My guess is that this is the issue.I have accounts on partypoker, Bwin, & WPT. There's no problem having accounts on different skins of the same network.

I have account at Party Poker and Bwin (old since the time of the Ongame Network) I downloaded the new Bwin is now the same party Poker Network, and have played normally.

Read item 4 below, it relates to open more than one account, each ID really need to have a deposit of the same name that was used in opening the account, for example, if you deposit in the account of his wife using your card credit, i think in the future you may have problems, the poker room can claim it and lock your money.

4. TRUE IDENTITY AND ONE ACCOUNT
The name on Your Account must match Your true and legal name and identity and the name on Your Account registration must match the name on the credit card(s) or other payment accounts used to deposit or receive monies into Your Account. To verify Your identity, We reserve the right to request satisfactory proof of identity (including but not limited to copies of a valid passport/identity card and/or any payment cards used) and satisfactory proof of address (including but not limited to a recent utility bill or bank statement) at any time. Failure to supply such documentation may result in suspension of the Account. You may not hold more than one (1) Account in connection with Your use of the Platforms. If You have more than one (1) Account or Accounts in different names, then You must contact Us immediately to have Your Accounts managed so that You only have one (1) Account. We reserve the right to close Your Account(s) if You open multiple Accounts. Should We have reasonable grounds to believe that multiple Accounts have been opened with the intention to defraud the company, We reserve the right to cancel any transaction related to said fraud attempt. If You have lost Your Account name or password, please contact Us for a replacement.

Thanks for your input everyone. Yeah, I did deposit on my wifes party poker account way back last year when I first started playing properly, I'd used the same deposit method on my own party poker account prior to this also.

The account was actually blocked but the party poker rang us up and spoke to my wife. She explained the situation and they unblocked the account, I'm guessing they must just cross-reference our surnames and address details, idk?

I can't remember now whether they wanted a scanned copy of her passport but it's a possibility because I have a copy of it in my scanned documents.

I said to her last night it's probably best to email party and ask them how she should deposit/withdraw in the future, just in case it flags anything up again.

Still no word from bwin, but I'm feeling pretty confident there shouldn't be an issue now after hearing the posts by everyone. Only issue is the 2 accounts I have (only one real money account and my play money account has the exact same details so it's not like I was trying to hide anything), hopefully they'll just close one. It's been almost 48 hours now, surely it can't be that difficult to sort out the issue?

Yes, it is very likely that Bwin will close your play money chips (you never deposited) and leave active only your real money account. Good Luck! :)

Still waiting

Still no response from bwin, well not directly from the investigation department. I've had an email back from the customer services after sending my explanation for having 2 accounts.

I think I'm quite a patient person but surely 72+ hours seems quite a while to wait? I've emailed customer services this morning asking what the standard time for an account to be unblocked is.

Just had my account re-opened, no explanation of what the issue was though. Oh well, it's taken a bit longer than I'd have liked but just pleased it been sorted.

My story now is the next. I played on bwin so many years ago and today I went back to check the options there. Unfortunately i can not play, because i have account on Partypoker. I don't really understand this situation ,because every provider who have more room to play, allow to have account in every room or at least they connect the same room's acc. So If you have Partypoker or Bwin don't register for the other room because you will be banned!
