Well, I'd usually agree with you and say "Sure, let anyone say whatever they want to say." But, he's a sponsored player, he represents Pokerstars the largest online poker site. From one poker professional to another, being disrespectful is awfully tacky.
Does it matter if he's a sponsered player or not? "Tacky" as it may have been, at least he's honest about his views. This "politically correct, touchy feely" bullshit has to stop sometime. Way to actually say what's on his mind, and not some garbage PC line.
This might be true and as has been observed above, if he thought it was an on the record conversation (assuming you believe his claims to the contrary) he probably would've chosen different words.
I honestly don't think it'll hurt him or Pokerstars though - given it's an opinion that a lot of people in the target market hold themselves it could actually be positive.
I read the interview a few days ago and I was like what? Its one thing to think it, but to say it in an interview it was kind of like wow what was DN thinking? Think whatever you want about people, but dont tell interviewers lol.
Maybe its a cultural thing, but the last time I said the "c" word in female company i was almost kicked out of the bar. That was after I called someone a shithead and a fukcer for annoying me, and was't even filnched at.
So yea, don't quite know, Americans are quite crazy at the best of times, but maybe a little more tact.
Negreanu ain't American. He's Canadian.....
Actually his point has some merit. The c-word has a strong negative social tolerance in the US, but not so much in some countries like the UK/Scotland. Not positive about canada, but they do tend to lean more European on many cultural things, and maybe this is one of them. In the UK, even men call each other that word.Nit picking ftl.

Well, where I live in the bush in northern Ontario, the C word flies most of the time. Usually the only people who get offended are the the poeple who really are C's and know it. lol
Yes!!! This! +1! Ya big C ;D
Canadaaaa from C to shining C!
