He is certainly allowed his views and free to speak them. Was a little shocked at the language...guess he is still bit of a kid. Over such a stooopid topic...men entering ladies only events too.

Daniel says things that others think but have to much common sense to say. I quess if you are a millionaire poker player you can afford to be tactless, but you sometimes lose some of the respect you have earned through the years.

That seems a bit over the top, even for Danial. There seems to be a lot of negative opinions of Annie. I haven't watched her much in the past couple years so I can't really comment on that. I did see a few shots of here at the 2010 wsop and she looked to have a very negative stern look on her face, Not sure what that was about and have only watched a couple shows of this years event so far. Possibly some can share why so many view her so negatively.

Wow...if he wants to criticize her then fine, but keep a little tact. Pulling out the "C You Next Tuesday" word is just wrong.

Could he have been a bit tipsy when he was interviewed? He has been known to hit the sauce between sessions.

Jeez, what the hell is WRONG with people today? Everyone seems to think that they have a right to not be offended, and that everyone should always have tact and be "mature" - what the hell happened to just letting what you feel rip in a natural and real way? Negreanu rarely steps "out of line" like this, so I think we should all respect the fact that when he does come out with stuff like this then there's some passionate reasoning behind it. Good on you, Negreanu, I say.

no shocker here, its been around for awhile.

u ever see that scene on wsop between brett jungblut and her calling over the tourn director? not as user friendly as howard.

Next to Matusow & Tony G, Negreanu has the biggest mouth in poker IMO. He has said a lot of bad things about a lot of other players (on the poker tables & off).

It's not surprising when he has something negative to say.

Well, I'd usually agree with you and say "Sure, let anyone say whatever they want to say." But, he's a sponsored player, he represents pokerstars the largest online poker site. From one poker professional to another, being disrespectful is awfully tacky.

I agree 100%.

Daniel's hatred of Annie is so extreme--wonder what's at the core of that.

Pretty classless. There are plenty of ways to get your point across without resorting to that kind of language. Not smart there Danny.

They are people, they get pissed. If I don't like you, I will tell you and I will use any words that I want. Simple as that. If DN wants to use harsh words so be it. He's an adult and he can say what he wants.

Granted, with him being in the spotlight like he is, he may, for his own professional benefit, try to use words that are a little less offensive. I don't fault him for saying what is on his mind. I give him props for speaking his mind the way he does. Most people don't have the balls to.

I don't know why the two don't like each other and I don't care. If the roles were reversed and Annie said those things about him, then so be it. Props to her for speaking her mind the way she wants.

Does it matter if he's a sponsered player or not? "Tacky" as it may have been, at least he's honest about his views. This "politically correct, touchy feely" bullshit has to stop sometime. Way to actually say what's on his mind, and not some garbage PC line.

It may be a bit on the tacky side, but in his defense, Daniel basically accusing the reporting of hit & run journalism. This apparently wasn't an arranged or official interview or press conference, it was apparently an impromptu conversation with the guy that he thought was off the record and he made the comment in that goofy way he has, not realizing the guy was going to publish it. At least that's this story, and I can believe it -- I've read an awful lot of Daniel's published comments, and while he does speak bluntly, I've never seen him be that crude. He admits that he uses colorful language in close company that he wouldn't in a proper interview, as I expect many of us do.

Annie is arrogant and has been critical and condescending to Daniel from when he first started playing poker. She only tried to make nice with him after he became recognized as a world-class player, but it was fake nice and he knew it. I don't blame him for not respecting her. He maybe should be more careful with what he says to who, just from a public image perspective (after all, he is marketing himself now), but I understand his animosity towards her. He particularly takes issue with her declaring herself the "greatest female poker player in the world." Despite it being laughably untrue in the opinion of most pros, both male and female, it's hypocritical given her campaign against women's events and how there should be no distinction between male and female players.

Praise to Daniel Negreanu

Like I said on another posting, Annie is rude and mean. Watch her play, She looks down to non famous pros and to famous poker pros she kiss major ass. Damn just watch her in last year WSOP. Calling the tournament director over and making a player take off his jacket because it annoyed her. What a B***h. Praise to Danial for saying what others fear to say because it true.

As regards the gender specific tourneys, it seems that when you restrict entry to a specific group, you are saying that the group is less than competitive than an open tourney. A women only tourney or a junior tourney in any competition is less skilled than an open group at large. If that sounds chauvanistic I apologize. I do however, believe it to be true.

agree with morris big time. summed up the situation perfectly.

on a side note shes an awesome hi/lo player but ive heard she can be "full of herself" sometimes but that can sometimes go with any1 that is good at what they do. and like i said, ive read and heard over the yrs a lot of players that find her difficult to deal with.

as for daniel, i think hes shady although hes got a nice nice public persona lololol but thats not really important.

he does all he can do to promote poker and be nice to the public. so i think we should give em a pass on that 1 comment and think about all hes done over the yrs versus 1 incident. although it wasnt the best way to
addressing his hostility towards her.

No because if you do some searching you will see he absolutely hates Annie Duke. He has been bashing her for a long time but then again, soooo many people in the poker community hate her

Sure, I know he hates Annie Duke and has for a while. I was just hoping the drinking excuse would apply to the use of the "C" word. I know when I'm drunk, I use the "F" word a lot. At least that's my excuse.

Man, it's poker... It's not a corporate office, or the royal family, or something... Annie Duke's an F'in B, anywho... Lol :p

I believe it would truly take quite a bit to really piss Daniel off, though he does prove a good point of argument. One is hypocritical to say greatest woman's champion when others such as Vanessa Russo and Annette15 qualify amongst the ranks.

I agree he can use whatever words he wants, however resorting to name calling, let alone that name is really classless.

I really used to like Daniel, however if he acts like this in an interview, I can only imagine him irl.
