The second Triton Series Cyrus of 2022 has kicked off with the first tournament being the $25k NLH 8 handed taken down by Patrik Antonius for $825,000.

Two things of note - Ebony Kenney made it to the final table (her first time playing this level of high roller) and she took home $240,500 for fifth. Fahredim Mustafov came second with Steve O'Dwyer in third.

The other thing of note was an incredible hand played by Patrik Antonius who made one of the best hero calls of all time to take the chip lead. I'll link to the Triton page with the full tournament schedule, and the final table stream. I am sure the Antonius hand will be released in a short clip form and then I will post it. Once again, poker media seems to be ignoring this series with most of the worlds best players - go figure.

Triton is a separate poker room? Or as part of a network? Do they pay?

Triton is a separate poker room? Or as part of a network? Do they pay?
Triton is a company which hosts high roller events for the world's top players.

Triton was founded by Paul Phua and Richard Yong, two wealthy Asian poker players who liked playing high stakes poker with a mix of businessmen and professional players. This year they have held events in Cyprus (in spring) then Madrid in Summer and now back in Cyprus again for fall.

The events typically draw several Asian and European businessmen and then many of the worlds best poker players such as Phil Ivey, Erik Seidel, Jason Koon, Steve O'Dwyer etc. etc. etc..

The buy in's start at $25K and range through to $250K. A few years ago in London, they staged a $1 million dollar buy in which ultimately paid twenty million to the winner- it was the richest poker tournament in history.

What makes the series so much fun to watch is the atmosphere is very relaxed with many participating being familiar and friends with each other in spite of the nosebleed stakes.

The Triton High Roller Series is a very serious series, but due to the high stakes, it is available to few people.

Ben Tollerene takes down Event 2, the $30K NHL six handed, for $ 807, 927 with Yuri Dzivieleski second and Stephen Chidwick third.

Really interesting fields showing for this event, as its seems like Triton has turned into the preeminent High Roller tour.

In the money were Fedor Holz 5th, Sam Greenwood 9th, Jason Koon 12th. Espen Jorstad 15th and Paul Phua min cashing in 17th...still taking $58,000.

This series is one of my favorites. I watched several hours this and in the last months. I am looking forward to these tournaments and luckily they are shown on Youtube.

Event 3 done and dusted, the $50K NLH 6 handed, with Peter Aerts taking first for $1.4 million, Sam Grafton second and Kannapong Thanarattrakhul placing third.

Bad final hand for Grafton as Peter Aerts went all in with A2 against Grafton's AQ with a 2 arriving on the turn.

Regarding what should be the biggest event The Coin Rivet Invitational, they are hoping for a $20 million prize pool. That will be a team event where a businessman 'invites' a pro to play. Paul Phua for example has teamed up with Phil Ivey. Should be very entertaining.

Here's another great, above the rim, hero call.

Essentially Fedor Holz caught with his pants down (he got away this this a lot during his sun run year) by Viktor Kudinov who calls him with 10 high with Q2KKA on the board. The best bit was Kudinov at the end joking he wasn't slow rolling, haha!

Event 4, the $75K NKH 8-handed in the books.

Kahle Burns wins for $1,730,000, Sam Greenwood second for $1,210,000 and Seth Davies third for $815,000.

Yuri Dzivielevski took 4th to go with his second place the other day meaning he has netted $1,379,000 so far this series similar to Ben Tollerene who has also won and placed high to net $1,343,000 as well.

They are however running into a problem. The fields seem to have grown this series and the play is very competitive making the tourneys difficult to close in 2 days. This one stretched towards 3 a.m. with the problem being You Tube only allows a 12 hour stream to be loaded, meaning this is the second time the final hour or so has been 'cut' meaning no one could watch it play to conclusion.

First time around, excusable, second time dumb. Triton could finish one stream on dinner break and start a second stream after players return. Not exactly rocket surgery.

It's a Triton affectation because the principal founders are ethnic Chinese.

The number four in Chinese sounds similar to death and Chinese are notoriously superstitious. That however does not take away from the fact that it was the fourth event.

Wow. wow, wow!

Day two of the $200K Coin River Invitational in the book and they could only get down to the final 16 instead of the final table - but I am sure everyone watching this is loving the way it played out as it has been enthralling.

Something tangible has really set in with this series - it is beginning to feel like nothing can compete with Triton for entertainment and genuine excitement. The play has become more sophisticated and intense, the fields are expanding, unbelievable when the buy-ins are so high. Yet at the same time there is a loose spirit to proceedings, and today proved a classic example of the best of Triton.

For every player who was serious and intense, there was another having fun and, largely thanks to Daniel Cates, getting just a little drunk. Cates had shown up as King Neptune (after Randy Savage-ing the wsop) wearing a toga and what could only be described as a Disney Princess tiara cocked jauntily on his head instead of a crown. He then supplied a steady stream of expensive whiskey for himself and his table partners and they got boisterous. The dealers couldn't get the smiles off their faces.

But heading to the bubble, in spite of the fact they are all virtually multi- millionaires, the ambition to beat the bubble really got the better of some. Ebony Kenney, the short stack doubled up through Chris Brewer and he literally had a mini breakdown for an extended period, head in hands and inconsolable. As he's made $6.5 million it's hardly about the cash, more the misstep and he indeed ended up as the bubble boy a few hands later. In the interim Leon Tsukurnic (owner Kings Casino) got rattled after losing a few hands in a row and called for a clock, apparently a knee jerk reaction as a clock has been in play the entire series.

Then, the final hand today and what an exclamation point. Tony G all-in with A 10 suited called by Leon Tsukurnic with AK. The flop comes all clubs and Tony G has the nut straight. At that point Tony G (who naturally has been drinking also) was shouting he was 'the best' champagne for everyone ....though as it was already 3am I believe everyone was heading for their rooms.

Fedor Holz is currently chip leader with Linus Loeliger, Sam Grafton, Seth Davies , Daniel Cates Tony G and Ebony Kenney (fantastic series she is having) left in the remaining 16. The $100K Main Event is to kick off today, so I am sure many who are in the remaining field of the $200K will be itching to late reg that as well.

This series has been a thrill from start to finish. I know the Cyprus timeline renders it difficult to watch for many to watch live, but if you get the chance to catch some play, do so, it will be worth your while!

I don't know the history of the hand, what happened in the tournament, but it's amazing to call like that (even if at the High Stakes level you can expect bluffs more often due to the pressure of the big stakes)!
Thanks for another video! 🤜🤛:)

The Coin Rivet Invitational $200K, after an extended bubble played a lot quicker once that burst and reached a final table rapidly. Though the FT was friendly, play was hyper focused as the first few pay jumps were relatively small and the tourney prizes were a little top heavy to say the least.

Ebony Kenney came fifth for $1,700,000. Her Triton earnings from this one series are close to$2 million when her previous big score was $40K.

Fedor Holz came fourth for $2,100,000

Karl Chappe-Gatien, a French businessman/investor came third for $2,600,000

Linus Loeliger came second for $3,900,000

The UK's Sam Grafton came first and bagged the monster payout of $5,500,000.

Great to see Sam Grafton take it down. I have watched him for several years play the EPT, always a character and fun player keeping tables bubbling along - he literally worked his way from low stakes to dipping his toes into high rollers over the last couple of years. Grafton has now cashed three times in Triton events with his winnings leaping to $7,340,000.

Meanwhile another $25K played out off camera. the Pot Limit Omaha tourney won by a Cypriot, Christopher Philippou.

Then as detailed already, the $100K main event played through its first day with philanthropist Jean Noel Thorel the present chip leader.

Second day of the $100K main event complete, but once again, could not get down to a final table though they did burst the bubble.

With 99 entrants the bubble stood at 13 players and each will receive a min cash of $198,000.

Viktor Malinowski (Limitless) is the chip leader by a long shot (30% of chips in play) with the likes of Henrik Hecklen, Jason Koon and Isaac Haxton still in the final 13.

Simultaneously there was another $50K NLH Turbo playing in the background with 33 entrants. Matthias Eibinger took first, Jonathan Jaffe second and Mikita Badziakouski third. That, officially was event number nine.

Punnat Punsri from Thailand takes down the $100K main event for $2,600,000 with Wayne Heung taking second for $1,825,000. Viktor Malinowski came third for $1,210,000.

Malinowski had dominated the final table but then lost an all in to Heung, followed by another all in with AK against Punsri who had pocket tens. The tens held and within a hand Malinowski was out. The heads up table was reset, then almost immediately it was Heung all in with A9 against Punsri's A8...with an eight on the board and that was the proverbial that.

Now on to the short deck events...

Phil Ivey wins his third Triton trophy by taking down the 10th Event, the $30K Short Deck winning $387,000. Sam Greenwood in second and Kiat Lee third.

Mikita Badziakouski placed fourth and Town Dwan fifth. Dwan had been chip leader since the day before but went about the final table playing every hand and trying to run everyone over...and then came unstuck. Ironically his downfall came playing good hands when most of the time he had been raising any two cards and getting away with it.

The $40K Short Deck, Event 11 was won by Karl Chappe-Gatien, Kiat Lee second and Chin Wei Lim third.

They have juggled a little with the schedule for the entire series over the three events Triton has held this year and although that is not exactly a large sample size, I get the feeling that interest in short deck has peaked.

The short deck tourneys are now all in a row at the end of the series and they attract about half as many entrants as the NLH tourneys and the fields are heavy with Asians due to the fact that short decks is so high variance. I actually think they might be better served by interspersing the short deck tourneys throughout the series because as things have stood, it rather feels the series tails off over the final few events.
