The Lodge Card Club in Round Rock, Texas will reopen its doors on May 18. The Lodge in Round Rock, a town just north of Austin, will only permit six-handed games at first in an attempt to adhere to social distancing guidelines. Should capacity exceed 75 people, security will be instructed to ask some club members to wait in their vehicles.

Time will tell if the social distancing guidelines can be followed.

One wonders, is it a ~>39ft round table, in this "attempt to adhere to social distancing", how they have planned for this?

I'm not much for geometry, but assume that 6.5ft in a rectangular/square implementation would take more space.

Who knows how this will work. If they are planning on 6 handed tables, it should be interesting to see if social distancing and cleanliness are taking seriously. (maybe they are using the 39 foot round table??) Oh, and it also should be interesting to see if security or floor personnel will take action if people do not 'adhere to the social distancing'.

Don't get me wrong.

I want this to work, for everyone, everywhere and too soon is not soon enough.

I am a cynic at heat. When it comes to casinos and their ilk, they are mostly a blight on society, siphoning money from those who can least afford it, but unfortunately can not recognize their plight.

I did say cynic, right?

I am a cynic at heart. When it comes to casinos and their ilk, they are mostly a blight on society, siphoning money from those who can least afford it, but unfortunately can not recognize their plight.

Oh, I too, am cynical with casinos/poker rooms wanting to rush opening up. I mean, I get it - it's business but definitely don't get how casinos/poker rooms are high on the list of businesses that NEED to re-open. The little that we know about this virus strain has told us it's not done with us yet (I really hope I'm wrong) and what better place than a poker room to test this out, right?! (complete sarcasm) When I die, I sure don't want to be a statistic and victim of Covid-19, so I'm doing what I can to stay clear of it. Just my 2.5 cents
