Considerable time is spent educating young people about the dangers of gambling but they are not being taught how to be good gamblers. Basic tools like the risk/reward equation, calculating and applying odds and not chasing losses (discipline) should be taught in schools. These tools can be applied throughout life and guide people in decision making (not just in gambling).

I think the young are protected enough from gambling early in their lives , not completely but enough . If sb wants to bet , he will do so , no matter the prohibitions . With proper BRM in every gambling choice , things will be fine . Nowadays there are more tools , at least online , to protect players on casino or poker games , also in sports betting. If you learn how to gamble safely , you won't deal with bad consequences , and if you are in a downswing you will know when to take a break or stop for a long time , if not for ever if necessary .
Some people shouldn't gamble at all ?? Exaggeration. I don't read the article of the op as it is from other site, which i first encounter , I don't like opening sites or pages unknown lol .....
