What a ridiculous change. It's already hard enough to justify playing on PokerStars due to their pathetic rewards system for net-withdrawers (read: winning players), and now anybody who focuses on tournament play is going to get even more screwed.

I've been considering a switch to partypoker for a while now due to the better rewards, better looking games, and due to the fact that they actually release new features instead of just new "games" that only exist to make PS more money to begin with by reducing the amount of skill it actually takes to play. Think I might make that switch now - this change halves the rewards points I earned (I'm a sole MTT and SNG player) in a system that already left me with only about 8-10% rakeback.

Time to reconfigure the spreadsheets again.

They are going to keep looking to find out where the point where players will take their action elsewhere.

They must be happy with their volume right now and see no reason to attract new players with attractive bonuses and the like.

If a competitor offers goodies that results in siphoning players off from stars they will likely change course to make themselves equally or more attractive again.

Until that happens I expect them to keep testing the levels to find the pain point that hurts their gross. They're the big dog right now and can flex a little because what are you going to do? Play in smaller fields out of spite?

The large fields and player pools are a premium service and they know they can charge more as a result.

They think they are a monopoly in poker market , as if there are not any other great poker rooms to choose .So they squeeze money out of the players and they get richer and richer . I think as long as pokerstars are sinking so many of their promotional dollars into live tournaments there will be less promo dollars for average online Joe. The platinum pass winners that cashed in Bahamas would have been happy but that is not many people. I really wish they would rethink things and quit pissiiing off the majority of their players.

that is no insult, I noticed that favors PokerStars players from Russia and brazil.
In tournaments that I play some hands with a 1% chance of getting .. Even this happening to me. I think it's because there are many players from these countries ..

I do not know why complain of Pokerstars since they are the best and represent the largest promotions. I played there only because they are the best out there and play and all good players nothing more than a good reward

That is possible, but I don't think this will cause a huge impact on most of the players. But if they continue with such moves, critical mass of players will be created and then they could face serious damage.

I agree with Terry and with Antonis. PS is abusing more and more, like a child testing their father's patiente.
I have a good bankroll at PS, but I am wondering cashout everything and only play their freerolls and use my money at other poker sites that give us more options of reward programs, like 888.
Which site do you think have a better proportion of money invested vs best return oportunities of ROI?

The only reward I need is a win for big$$$
The rewards don’t matter to me much
And as long as I have a stack of chips and 2 cards I am a force to be reckoned with I want first place and it will still be a lot of money anyways even with changes to pokerstars. You just gotta be successful at the tables then nothing else matters.
