If folks have been unaware or hiding under a rock, here is an updated opinion by Jon Sofen, on the lasted cheating scandal that has uniteed the poker world.

In short, Mike Postle is alleged to have used some sort of unknown device to access his opponent’s hole cards during Stones Live streams at Stones gambling Hall in Citrus Heights, California. Many believe someone on the inside helped. Postle has denied the allegations to CardsChat News and on Mike Matusow’s podcast.

I think this will negatively impact “live” televised poker programming. If the control room can remotely access hole cards in real time and send that information to a player at the table then that’s a real problem. The wsop and many other productions can be manipulated or at least some will feel this way. Money makes people sink to incredible lows. Unfortunately this is another black eye for poker. Too many cheaters out there. Very sad.

It should be noted (I did so in another 'Stones' thread) that Las Vegas and Nevada casinos have strict protocols in place regarding the use of RFID technology. Many of the guidelines come directly via input of the Nevada Gaming Commission.

Across the border in California, these protocols are not in place and were not implemented independently by Stones.

Any entity using RFID technology to stream poker needs to have such security in place or they will lack any credibility after this Postle/Stones fiasco.

further edit - a quick Google search reveals when RFID technology was introduced (I've glanced one paper from 2005 for example), security and protocol standards were discussed as being integral to implementation.

There is no excuse for the Stones incident to have occured.

Mike Postle is an obvious cheat. I hope he and anyone else involved goes to jail for this. Joe Ingram and Doug Polk have both had great content on youtube. The matusow interview was terrible. Soft ball city. And mike saying he was high during interview. Way to take it seriously there Matusow. What a joke.

For me, it's a clever move competitors. It's much easier to blame something than to admit your own failures. Public opinion will do the rest if given publicity. In any case, there was in fact a deception or not, but the road to the poker table is now closed to him. After such popularity, few people will dare to invest their finances in a game against him.
Mike Postle can say goodbye to poker!

I am glad that The Gaming commission took those steps to ensure fair play. Hopefully other states will learn from this oversight and cheating scandal and begin implementing proper safeguards. This information is reassuring.

So many vloggers analyzed so many of Postle's hands. There are so many examples of this guy looking in his lap ( in one video you almost see his cellphone in his lap) whenever he needs to make important decisions about a hand. Joey Ingram and Doug Polk are very good investigators. Just by observing his body language and demeanor during multiple hands it becomes very obvious somebody is giving him information about opponent's hands. It's statistically improbable to be right in weird spots so many times, any poker player can see that. I don't know how the police are not investigating this yet. I find the evidence overwhelming.
