This is a discussion on Michigan online gambling bill passed within the online poker forums, in the Poker News and Events section; Friday a new online gambling bill was signed dont know if poker is included but i hope so.
I'm ambivalent about "legalization" on a state by state basis. Its nice for people to be able to play on Pokerstars again, but it will only be against a segregated player pool, not the rest of the world (in Michigan only or maybe including the few other states that have it too).
A step in the right direction. Michigan becomes the 6th state, West Virginia also passed a law earlier this year. My guess is a couple more states per year will legalize up to a certain point, leading to a standstill until it gets legalized nationally. I firmly believe it will happen eventually, just a matter of when.
