Major Boycott Pokerstars High Roller Main Event happening live what u guys think?

Here's a video where I talk about the major boycott happening right now on pokerstars! The High Rollers are making a stand, the priciest Main Event might be cancelled!

What do you guys think? Will it work?? As I am writing, there are a couple registrations coming in, but still very far from the 144 players needed for covering the guaranteee!

Ha, I think they should agree to overlay it big with minimum amount of players needed....this way just some MTT gets cancelled not that big of a deal. Though I do not like the corporate way Stars is handling themselves.

Though they would test each others greed who get to play it....that being said the market offers what it does for many reasons.

I think because of the rake system of pokerstars, I don't know if pokerstars reacted on that or not but they have too or they will loose the field little by little.

Unless those players boycott for a long time period over several events then this action will be fruitless. Obviously gaining a lot of publicity, but surely stars realizes they still have the upper hand because they offer the best tournament schedules for higher prize pools and the best software. The professional players will need to play eventually in order to pay for life’s expenses. I do give the boycotters credit though, hopefully things will work in their favor. At the very least, this may keep stars from considering any more negative changes.

Well, sadly, the boycott was a failure! A bit frustrating, especially when PS is gonna cut 55% from Stars Rewards (which was already not that big to begin win lol)

They probably filled it with house players just to show those that boycotted they don't care what players think.
Sad really, just cause share holders wont be able to put gas in their jets, players have to suffer.

PokerStars has long shown itself as a room for fish ludomans playing bingo, the management does not bet on quality but on quantity. Now of all the big rooms PokerStars is the worst. It is a pity that really the best room became the dump for rotten fish.

G>O>O>D - on 1 side, rakemakers should give s*it to PS for hugerake+norakeback+badstruckture games... on the other hand whne PS 1st announced that they ar emoving from SNE to 30%RB to... what is now like 2%(the worst in the industry BTW) all there was was a bit of outrage (becuase that's iportaint and makes us feel good) and a few avatras "amay dont kill poker" - cool right?
At the very least this will actually hurt their pokcet so yay! :congrats:

Yea - those things rarely work but I certainly understand the frustration of the players.

I saw Igor and Liv Boeree in the registrations and I thought it was quite a lame move on their part to not support the boycott.

I personally don't think it's the worst. I actually think that PS is still fantastic software, with many interesting games and a strong customer service. But yea all the decisions concerning the rake and the players in general are quite bad lately. Unfortunate it is.

Eheh yes indeed, I work on so many things all the time, I am even making a video game atm! ^^ I make videos about gaming, my poker and gambling wins, and sometimes poker news! I also make videos about movie stuff, like my video about that horrible genie from Disney!

I think it is a good move. Similar to making a union? Even though we may battle at the poker table, players need to stick together and fight big Pokerstars greedy rake system. It will only get worse if no one takes a stand!

Oh I always remember good old Milton Friedman when it comes to this kinf of stuff. Free market at its finest. Keep cutting it down PS, and the big guys will move their business elsewhere, followed by us, little fish.

If they're taking the piss, then yeah good on the players at that level for telling them to shove it with the 2nd nuts.
Plenty of other sites out there, it's affecting the game overall when the best players are striving constantly and the newer
players feel that pressure and may not want to stay in the game.
