Kentucky is a backwards state that is unable to realize meddling in people's lives is a bad thing. They have too many who believe that the church should dictate the life of everyone and not enough common sense in the government to realize that this causes more harm than good. I lived there for 2 years and was happy when I moved.
Now, here is a bonus. President Obama is a poker player and did behind the scenes moves that helped protect players when he was in office. Many of the people who respect him are going to be in positions of authority, so this should help on the national level. I also do not see this surviving a federal trial run, as even the conservatives will see this as overreach.
As for the ruling, this will cause a further headache for all
poker sites making moves inside the US. That means sites like ACR will be insulated in many ways. They could get sued, but if this ruling goes federal, it allows many people the chance to step up and help destroy it. Without Republicans in power, people like that fellow from Vegas who is a pain will have little recourse in his pushes. I would say that this is not done.
