i have watched a lot of JL , some of his early material is hard to watch. I mean not editing a lot of what ifs, maybes.. in some of his learning material. Dont get me wrong, the information is in there, just not clean and crisp as I like.
I do like the material he has presented, his lessons are great, the questions are interesting and challenging. Well worth the time to invest, if I had the discipline or desire to go in deeper.
I only checked out his site during the free weekend , which for me was only about 5 hours. I noticed that everyone who was an instructor , at least the videos I watched were players from 10 or more years ago. Now , maybe the basics of poker will always be the basics of poker, so I think maybe people would benefit just from thinking more about the game. Now, this is just my opinion, and I am not trying to talk bad about any training site, BUT if I was going to make an investment in poker training, I would feel more comfortable, if the people making the videos, or sharing their thoughts on strategy were people who are currently winning players, the game of poker does change year to year and even month to month at the highest levels. Even my $5 and $10 mtt's go through changes in open sizes, 3 bet ranges, etc..
So saying that , I should add that I have heard some good things from people at my live casino. A couple of them like Johnathan's approach to teaching and said they have improved from watching him. I guess it is like most things, different strokes for different folks. We all have ways we like to learn, things work great for you might not for me and vice versa. Whew , that was too long
