Not impressed either. Okay, charity, but what's interesting about Doyle Brunson playing poker online with Adam Sandler, Ben Afleck or Tom Brady? I mean besides of maybe a few cheesy comments in the chat box.

I would rather watch MtCashman, Jaymfc, and Memphis Grind playing in the CC BOL freeroll today, I believe there I could actually learn something.

Besides, playing poker for charity is nonsensical in my opinion anyways, it's like playing for matches with your grandparents at home.
If you want to donate money, great, you are a generous individual, just write the check to whoever you want the money to go to.

I guess when I see that someone isn't impressed, I do wonder what part they aren't impressed by. But, I get it - not everyone is on board to watch Celebs play online.

I can't say if I am impressed or not because I don't get star struck that easy, especially when it's online poker, BUT I am impressed they are raising money for charity.

I used to love watching the Celebrity Poker TV show (I forget the exact name), and hope to enjoy this as well. I'm starting late ... going in now.

I just caught the tail end and looks like Ebony Kenney took it down!

It was pretty cool I enjoyed the whole thing. The commentators phone interviewed several of the celebs. It was a good time. Also the ACR channel put together clips from some of their movies and shows. It wasn't just celebs playing though. Anyway I thought it was cool and how can anyone be against a charity like that one?? I guess I do not understand.

Awesome event , for very nice purpose . This charities are needed very much always in all over the world , especially these times with the problems everyone has to deal with , due to corona virus . Very nice by all these great players , such as Hellmuth , to show and play their A game in this online show , help his cause and try to make an example for other poker rooms to follow . Thumbs up

What a fun event... but I wonder about the publicity for ACR... either it will help the legalization, or shine a spotlight for the anti-online crowd to focus on.

I loved watching the event. Super fun! I play these people in my poker dreams all the time But the same thought occurred to me about the site drawing too much attention to itself. Hopefully it doesn't backfire. Fingers crossed, the climate is more relaxed and accepting of online poker now. And maybe it even does some good - celebs and poker stars playing for charity and raising tons of money for a really good cause certainly helps to legitimize this great game.

I enjoy watching celebrities play. I think it's fun to watch non pros play, especially people you recognize.

Just a final thought. I agree with most of you but there is a right and wrong way to do things for the good of humanity, as I am learning from experience. Why doesn't the poker community get together, in the way they did to out Postle, in order to bring online poker back to the US the way we want it? The Poker Alliance is the only real attempt at that but I never see campaigns there. I do see three nice pictures of pros on their homepage though.

I also have noticed that since 2011 most Americans have just settled for whatever they can access rather than fighting back for our right to play poker and party! I think everyone agrees that PokerStars was a fantastic option for Americans, right? Those players worldwide would be very grateful to have back the US player pool. That is what is good for poker and it should be a priority. I support crypto for that reason. It's a community of people that are encouraging each other to improve their products, the industry and each other. I don't see that from other operators' sites. I see greed and dollar signs in their eyes and tons of gimmicks. It is not just the one site I keep bringing up either. It's most all unregulated sites. Thankfully, their are no laws preventing crypto only sites from their mission to improve online poker once and for all. I hope this helps you understand my reaction that I could have spent more time thinking about before blasting the entire event. However, after seeing the man go on break "to fix things" all anyone can do is grab the popcorn and hope for the best. Thankfully, for me, this will not be a repeat of the Full Tilt remission process. For all of you, I hope it goes the best way possible but I still will never play there again until my problems are addressed the way I expect them to be. I do not think I hold operators to a high standard. I just expect fairness and accountability as everyone seeks from us and I want poker back for everyone. This shutdown is showing us all why we need it back. Best of luck to everyone and its your choice where to play but those are my 99 cents!

I am not an American who is dealing with the loss of legal online poker but how can the average American, who is looking to help the cause of putting online poker back into the USA, help the movement? or continue the fight?

Unfortunately, since Rich Muny has not been the face of the PPA there doesn't seem to be as much noise out there, in my opinion. This is not meant to ignore those who have been doing what they can.

I can understand that you aren't dealing with this loss directly but you kind of are indirectly. The player pools got segregated by regions all over the world since then. There is no competition between online poker operators in the same way there used to be because they all focus on specific markets due to regulations.

I want to stir up this conversation because that is exactly what I'm trying to find out. Is anyone from the PPA here? Does anyone want to just band together and do this ourselves? We can all put on latex gloves, masks and hold signs out front of wherever this needs to be done Do you think if the DOJ decided to lift any regulations for our entertainment due to the state the world is in, that this is something that can be turned right back on? Hopefully, with a site like Pokerstars, PartyPoker or even GGPoker who seems to be making a ton of headway.

I don't understand why the long-time reputable operators let others hammer a vulnerable market. Especially, ones that bought out the other one and covered their losses for the good of the community. I know there are way bigger issues to face at this time but a lot of thinking has been done lately as a result. My opinion is that now is the time for Americans to do something about this once and for all. Talking is great. We do that well, however, its time for action like the PPA tried to preach.

Yes, indirectly... the loss of Americans at the virtual tables did hit those of us who are still playing there.

How about a thread? I tried coming up with a title but can't think of exactly how to word it. Americans shouldn't be the only ones that can do something about it though. If others from around the world got involved in the conversation it would show what a great community poker is surrounded by. To be honest, in my 20 years of being in this community, while there are some diamonds in the rough, in general the community is toxic. Prime example is that it took Postle to get media coverage of how the community worked together to focus on the negatives. Poker is a worldwide sport and game that gets a bad wrap as a result of that toxicity and all the regulations. We can change that together.

Thank you Joe. I am reviewing this thread this week in hopes to continue it or restart something similar with the help of anyone.
