"Hold Cards" or "Hole Cards"? Which side are you on?

It is clearly "hole cards", but someone might stick with "hold cards" if they mis-spoke once and won't admit they did regardless how silly the story goes

p.s. Still "Hole cards" even if some people physically "hold" them

Hole Cards is the usual term
never heard "hold" cards anywhere
maybe pockets is a synonym
or maybe dealt cards?

I really never understood the way a lot of players and commentators say when they say it. It could go either way.
I think if I ever play live and people ask me, which I doubt they would...I would say it while mumbling and that way they can hear what they think they heard. lol
