since last night my pokerstars account has been lagging hugely. last night every couple of minutes the wee connection bar would start loading, or all the tables would kind of freeze and then all come back to life like 10 seconds later. it is really awkward and annoying to play in. does anybody have any ideas of how to fix this. i got the Pokerstars update yesterday or the day before so maybe it has something to do with that? i have never had this problem before hmm.

Try resetting your modem, and router. Pin hole on the back of it with the word reset, use a toothpick to hit the button, no metal items should be used to hit the reset button.

I don't believe it's from PS end. Try cleaning up some, delete cookies and rearrange the hard drive.

It sounds as if you're using a wifi connection. This was happening to me due to how many were accessing the router at the same time as me. I hard wired myself directly to the router with an ethernet cable. Made it better but almost impossible to get rid of, the router can only handle so much bandwidth.

Another issue with a wireless router is placement. It seems that every wireless router has "dead zones" that are hard to keep connected. I find this to be lower spots such as the floor or bottom shelf of desk. Try a new location preferably in a higher spot.

Lastly I bring up TaskManager (Windows) and show the processes tab. I found some crap running in the background from my security software that was useless for what I was doing but using up to 32% of my CPU at times. I select the actual problem on the processes tab and close it manually. This I had to do every time till I got rid of the security suite.
