Dan Bilzerian joins GG Poker Team

When I first saw Dan Bilzerian is joining GG Poker this I thought it was a joke, but no its really happening.

I guess he has blown through all of his trust fund money with his failing company and needs more cash. The only one of his self proclaimed accomplishments in poker that can be verified is that he cashed in the 2008 world series of poker Main Event for $36,626.

Is this a good move for GG Poker? Is it a good look for GG to have someone like this on their team of 'pros'?

I my opinion it a great move from GG, he has more then 30m followers, it will bring a lot of new customers, more gamblers in this case so I guess its a win win situation for GG and for old players like me who are looking forward this because there will be MUCHO GRANDE new fish to feed on.

People might not like what's he's doing and how he is, not in the guns and so on but anyhow he's a bright person and intresting to watch

It's hard to shame somebody with that wealth, all those women, and that lifestyle. The traditional put downs are just not going to work.

If whatever poker site wants to get as much new clients as possible then they probably should think about expanding to various markets rather than just "hire" some celebrity lol ...

Well, from GG's standpoint, it's cheap advertising. With his huge following, it may draw a LOT of people to their platform, and especially now with people being inside, they will have free time to kill, and may play poker. His character is definitely questionable, no doubt, as I've watched Vanessa Kade stream in the past, and she's a good streamer and by all accounts, pleasant on stream.

As for how it's going to play out, I don't know - I can't say I've followed it that closely, but it definitely is a polarizing issue.

Well, as usual, Social media whined and moaned for 4 days , now a week later and it is as if it never happened, OH , except for Bilzarian is cashing that GG check with Dannny Boys full-throated approval. It appears from the comments, people think this is a no-brainer for bringing in huge amount of "new" players. I have to disagree, we watched Stars do the same for a few years they dumped Poker "Pros' and hired comedians and celebrity types and I don't think it brought them any new players, BUT - the people who hold the purse strings must think it is the way to go, in the end, it leads to higher rake for the actual players, almost no rewards for loyal volume players ??? Oh well, it is 2020 , and the world is upside down.
