Thats a really nice idea. If the schedule will be European-friendly, I may make it a try on that, not because I want to be the One-and-only, but it seems challenging enough and fun.
Hopefully it will not be Freebuy, cause those tournaments are not make sense for me, not measuring anything just who have more money. But 0.01 is really not much... So we will see.

I'm getting my vaccine shots. I'll be transitioning to playing more live poker long before July. Can't compete for a leaderboard.

I intend to play in every one of these penny tournaments, and I'm sure many here at Cardschat will be doing the same.

excellent idea, we really have to encourage new poker lovers, not all of us are professionals and we do not have the ability to pay for live tournaments … I will do everything possible to participate in this tournament, it would be a dream for me to be honorary member of a poker room

By the way, who did not check it out on the official ACR site. The important details missing from here. There are only 4 daily 0.01$ turbo (5min blinds, 1h late reg - finally not 2-5 hours..) freezeouts, so if you play all in a week, that cost 28 cents, in the hole 12 weeks period, if you can't qualify for the last stage earlier, it costs 3.36$... in my opinion, if you are flexible because of the schedule, it takes only time to be in the last 360, and that's where the real game starts...

Yeah, the details are not complete but they give you a bit of an idea what ACR has going on. It's kind of up to us to look into all the options available for us to participate.

Thanks for posting these details on what ACR will be running, this is the first time I've seen the actual information of how many tournaments per day, for example.

But we have some time to understand all the details, because this doesn't begin until April 12. Good luck to everyone playing, I hope you are the one!!

Thanks for the response. I wasn’t sure since they are in the same network but yea it makes sense it would just be an ACR thing.

Love promotions like this. Thank to ACR for the opportunity & thanks to CardsChat for posting this. I think Moneymaker is a great match up with ACR too. PokerStars overplayed their hand - but it was probably all in the fine print that he stick with them for a min. of 15,000 years LOL.

I don't know Chris personally but used to play with him on the play chip side of Stars... yes, believe it or not, he would play in the big Sunday play chip tournament almost every week, clearly a part of his contract, but he was there almost every week just like Barry Greenstein used to play with us in the Sunday Billion every week (the Sunday Billion is the play chip version of the Sunday Million real money tournament). Chris was wonderful, both to his fellow Americans who have been banned from real money play for the last decade by our own Federal Government, and he was also wonderful for Poker Stars since he never seemed to avoid his "contractual duties".

So, my point in posting is to say that Chris Moneymaker leaving Poker Stars most likely had NOTHING AT ALL to do with Poker Stars, and it had everything to do with Chris Moneymaker being an American citizen. The way he was able to play for real money is that he was forced to leave his home in America and travel somewhere else in the world where they allow real money play on Poker Stars. I believe he always went up to Canada. But as you might imagine, it probably becomes a bit of a burden and an annoyance to always have to travel in order to play your serious poker. He could use the play chips from America, I play every day on Stars as an American... but not real money. It's absurd that they call America the "Land of the Free" but we're not free to play poker with the rest of the world on Stars. It's hypocrisy of the worst sort from our government.

But back to Chris, especially in this new "Covid age", he pretty clearly got sick of the traveling and wanted to be able to play for real money from his home and stay closer to his family. The only way he could legally do that was to leave Poker Stars and join another site which is called a "gray market" site in America, its not illegal for us to play on sites like ACR but we have NO legal protections if anything goes wrong. And so that's what he did, he left Stars even tho he acknowleged on another site that they did want him back and he did have an open offer to renew his contract with Stars. It's not a negative reflection on Stars or on Chris, the negative reflection is ENTIRELY on our Federal Government and its hypocrisy, that's what forced Chris' hand. That, and all the Covid crap, obv.

Once again, CardsChat fills me in on a promotion that I did not even bother to read. Thanks Shells. I will give it a shot. I will sign up for all the tourneys I see during my daily grind. I did not get all details, I will find out more later, I imagine. Haha

I'm in the Top 30 with just 2 days to go, I haven't made any final tables yet but I've played in almost every tournament and you apparently get credit for your best 5 finishes of the week, I've had a bunch of deep runs despite not making any FT's, my best finish is 18th place I believe.

But what this shows is that the top 30 doesn't seem like it will just be 30 tournament winners only. I haven't seen the points scoring system, but it seems as if they've spread the points out to give players like myself - who make deep runs often but rarely win - a better chance. I will be thrilled if I can qualify into the Finals in Week #1 simply because it means I won't have to grind for the next 11 weeks... but truth be told, I love to grind so I might actually miss it a bit. hehe But really don't want to let this decent starting week go to waste. Still trying to earn a win in one. :-) But it is tough, lots and lots of killer coolers and bad, bad beats. Don't get discouraged, keep right on going!

So don't despair if you don't think you can win. Just play steady solid poker, and if you have the time to do so, play in every event. I'm retired from working so for me its easy to play 6am, 11am, 3pm and 7pm every day. Along with the Cardschat freerolls and the League play, it keeps me plenty busy and its a fun goal to try and achieve! Good luck!!

Thanks for this encouraging mesage im in 130 place with 139 points i havent win any but have made 2 deep runs, i need 3 more but the variance in huge with players shoving with any 2 all the time.

I am in and from Canada and also have an active ACR account. Do you have an account? Have you tried to participate in any of the Tournaments? I don't see anything in the rules that may exclude anyone in Canada.

I did it! Made the finals in Week #1.

That's the good news!! The bad news is... now I have no more reason to play the penny Moneymaker tourneys. hahaha I loved the grind this past week, haven't had such a fun week in a long, long time. Thank you ACR for running this promotion for us micro grinders!!!!! I think I played in 24 of the 28 tournaments (actually it was 27 since ACR did a site update, cancelling one of the Moneymakers).

My final tally was 386 points, good enough for 12th place. First place scored 424 points, and 30th place earned 347.

Here's how the math works - take your five best finishes for the week and add them together to get your score. Points are scored with 100 for a first place finish, 99 for 2nd, 98 for 3rd, all the way down to 1 point if you finish in 100th place in the tourney.

Now for some tips I picked up based on stats.

My 386 points over 5 tournaments equals approximately 77 points per tournament. And 77 points is earned for a 23rd place finish, meaning my average finish over my 5 best tournaments is 23rd place. If we do the same math for the first-place finisher (424 pts) we get an average finish of roughly 15th place, and the math for the 30th place finalist (347 pts), they had 5 finishes averaging 30th place in the tournament.

So from this we can see you will need 5 deep runs averaging around 30th place in order to qualify, if Week One is a good indication. Keep in mind, players like myself who already qualified won't be playing, meaning that theoretically, it should get easier to qualify as the previously winning players drop out of the mix.

An important thing to note is that the average field size varied during the week. The late-day tournaments got anywhere from 700 to 1000 players, while the early morning tournaments got a much lower turnout, about 250 players. Since the points earned is apparently the same for every tournament, it obviously is a wise strategy to play as many of the early morning tournaments as you can. In one of the 6am events, I used my laptop in my bed and I was so groggy from waking up earlier than normal that I couldn't even keep my eyes open for the first hour. I ended up with my best finish of the week in that one, 10th place. LOL Go figure. But that's my best advice in terms of strategy, play early!!!

And as I just noted, my best finish is 10th which means I never made a final table the entire week!! My 5 finishes were 10-18-24-26-47 or something close to that. So the point to be noted here is that you do ***NOT*** have to win a tournament to make the finals! With the point scoring system, its a little bit different from the usual strategy. Winning is not over-weighted under the points system, so the goal should not be to win the tournament but rather your goal should be to finish as high as possible, sometimes that means riding a short stack and laddering up by folding.

Clearly, the main requirement for this contest is "have the time to play all the events". I would have played every event except I realized by Saturday that I was probably guaranteed a spot, and by Sunday it was almost assured, and I skipped a few tourneys to focus on others. There was not much movement on the leaderboard on Sunday, so don't worry too much about a big push late in the week. At least in Week #1 I didn't see that happening at all.

Early in the week I almost quit because I got a few high finishes and didn't see my name on the leaderboard, I checked the names 3 or 4 times. That made me think that ACR wasn't scoring properly or something. But when I woke up the next morning, suddenly I was on the list, and not only that, I was in the top 30. :-) So the lesson is, don't panic if you don't see your name on the scoreboard yet!! I think the reason my name was missing was because I hadn't played enough tournaments yet. Who knows. In the end, the scoring was accurate and I made the finals, I could be the next Moneymaker!! I hope I don't forget about the finals in July, that's a long way away. haha
