What a funny set of circumstances! :D

If it was me, I think I would have notified the tournament director of the mistake. Of course I'm also the kind of person who gives back the money when a grocery store cashier returns too much change back to me! :shakehand

She is in the wrong. The tournament she registered for had a different start time, different starting stack and different buy-in. By her own admission she continued playing AFTER she knew she was in the wrong tournament. Sorry that her feelings were hurt, but the customer is not always right. If a bank pays you in error you don't get to keep the money (monopoly rules aside), the same principle applies here.

This happened before at the Bellagio (although the player in that had malicious intent), player busted Mercier and a few other pros before he was found out. That guy got banned for life. FYI, you cannot cash in a tournament you didn't register for. It's not possible, the computers keep all this information, and the cage can only pay out valid tickets. Don't waste your time!

I tend to believe she is in the wrong, too. I am not a live tournament player at all, so I really don't know what I would do if faced with the same situation. Actually, that's not true, I KNOW I would have said something to someone, even if I felt like it was holding up the flow of the tournament or whatever. But, everyone handles situations differently and this was how she dealt with it. Cat felt the rudeness from the floor probably could have been different. It's obvious she was rattled enough by it that she recalls the details in the video and does not come away with a good experience.

"Catrific" poker mishap

Hey guys I just read the story about you tube blogger Catrific buying into a 400 dollar side event at a wsop circuit series and getting put into the 1700 dollar main. I just had a couple of questions about this that the article didn't cover.
The first thing is how did it even happen? I mean did she go to the cashier and buy in for the 400 and get a ticket for a seat in the main, or did she get the right ticket and went to the wrong tourney and the dealer just didn't notice what tourney it said?
Second is how did they end up realizing she wasn't supposed to be there? If they gave her the wrong ticket I don't see how they'd know unless it was the right ticket and the dealer or whomever finally noticed.
I'm just curious because I've never heard of it happening before and it seems like most casinos are pretty good at running tourney's especially for the wsop. Anybody ever heard or seen something like this before?

I did not have access to the content of the news, and the casinos are able to identify and correct the mistakes as soon as possible, anyway he already won in the gift that received rsrsrsr
