More Pros at Cardschat!

We are honored and excited to have pokerstars Team Pro Chris Moneymaker joining us at Cardschat! He will be in this thread for 1 hour answering questions from our members.

Date: Sunday, May 19 *** rescheduled
Time: 5:30pm ET

I will open this thread 1 week before Chris will be here so that some of you can get some questions in early. You can also post questions during the hour he is here - Chris will try to answer as many questions as possible in that 1 hour time frame.

What kind of questions can you ask? You can ask him questions about his poker career, about poker itself, you can ask him non-poker questions - anything you want as long as it is respectful and in good taste.

I feel confident that our members will be respectful and ask great questions. However moderators will be deleting any posts/questions that are not in good taste.

In an effort to share as much as possible with us Chris may skip posts that are irrelevant etc in order to get to as many good questions as possible.

Start thinking about what you want to ask him now!

Meanwhile if you want to discuss this exciting event you can do so here:

Welcome Vanessa Rousso, Chris Moneymaker, and Jason Mercier to Cardschat!

Hey Chris,

totally random and slightly drunk, but we played an MTT at Presque Isle Casino awhile back (October?) and we both busted on the same hand before final table. I was sitting on your right all day, young kid who was playing too aggro...anyways, just wanted to say it was awesome playing with you and appreciate everything you do for poker!

hello chris

you are now a top famous poker player!

After years of play as a professional player,
in 2003, there obviously a lot of things that make u create a miracle!

So as for now,

what do u think the most important reason/key factor to make 2003 year of yourself to create that success?
and
what is your favorite poker action -- eg preflop 3bet/ check raise flop, something like that?

thank you.

Hi Chris,

Thanks so much for coming to CardsChat!!

How would you describe the emotions you were feeling the moment you won the Main Event?

What is the biggest way your life has changed because of winning the main event?

Who do you consider to be the best 3 poker players alive today (using the current state of their game)?

Thanks again for your time!!

Chris, where did you move to such that you can play at Stars? Or am I wrong to assume that a Pokerstars Team Pro has to actually play at stars?

Can you define the Moneymaker Effect?

;)

How many MTTS a week do you play online? Do you play more live than you do online?

Hi Chris:

It is now almost ten years since you won the wsop Main Event. How surprised were you at the huge effect you had on the game? Where do you think poker will be ten years from now?:D

hi

Mr. Moneymaker
I cant believe how long ago it was when you won the main event. It seems like it was just yesterday that I watched you win it. Of course just like many other players that win by you gave me dreams of doing just what you did. lol of course for me it didn't turn out the way I had hoped yet. lol stil grinding it out on the low stakes. anyhow I just wanted to say hi and to tell you that I appreciate all you did for the poker world by taking down the tournament and forever changing the game of poker.
Take care

Hello Chris,

A big 'Thank You' to being a huge part in turning the poker world what it is today. I feel poker is at the best it's ever been, and can't wait to see what the future holds for it.

What was the first 'fun' item you bought with your winnings?

Not much of a question, I know, but just wanted to send my thanks to help form the world and industry that we know and love today.

Cheers.

Hi Chris - on behalf of Cardschat I want to thank you for taking this time to spend with us answering questions from our members.

Do you have a favorite live tournament series other than the WSOP that you like to play in every year?

You have met and rubbed elbows with a lot of famous poker players now. Who are your favorites - not as players - but as people/friends?

Chris, glad to have you on CC. One question is: What do you think the time frame for legalizing online poker in the
US will be? I am from Alabama and don't think it will come to Alabama.
Thanks.

Did ANYBODY kick you down after all the extra money you brought to the game? Anybody show their appreciation? Or did they just use you?

Hi Chris, and thanks in advance for taking the time to answer our questions!

Are there any players out there that you've played that you would not want to play with again? If so why not?

Chris, thank you so much for taking the time from your busy life to spend this hour with us. What an honor this is.

Here are my questions:

When did you start playing poker?

Did you read any books, or just learn by playing?

In the years following your big win, you were under such intense scrutiny. How did you cope with that?

What are your dreams and plans for the future?

Thanks again for being here,

Lark

Hard to measure against 2.5M, but you must mean besides the $300,000 for 2nd at NBC HU in 2011; $130,000 for 11th at PCA in 2011; $60,000 for 3rd at World Poker Open Tunica in 2009; $139,000 for 6th at Pokerstars WCOOP in 2008; $200,000 for 2nd at WPT in 2004

Hello sir (I wanted to say congrats on all your poker success)...

My questions are as follows..

1) What is the biggest advangate "Key" thing (I guess only way to sum), that a player would need to be a winning player?

2) At what stage should a person really quit poker? I ask because ppl believe have stated in the past to me that a person who doesn't win with-in a certain time frame will be an over all losing player, I don't know this to be true or not, so I'm hoping you can clarify it for me..

Once again thx for taking the time out to answer our questions

Do you have any idea how much you messed it up for us old folks?

Things were pretty good and along came the Moneymaker tidal wave.
