Benjamin Rolle or bencb, the founder of "Raise Your Edge" training site, announced on Twitter and Youtube that he is now an ambassador for pokerstars. I really like Ben, he has put out a huge amount of free content, he always takes the time to answer questions, even if you are not a "member" of his site.

I am wondering how everyone feels about Ben pushing PokerStars?? I do not think PokerStars has been a good site for serious poker players, the reward program is pretty terrible, etc.... I am conflicted, Ben seems to be to genuine of a person to work for PokerStars.

I also really like bencb, and I think, he would be a great ambassador for any poker site. As for poker sites, that are "good for serious players", which one(s) do you think are better than PokerStars? And I dont mean, if PokerStars was better 10 years ago. I mean, which sites, that exists today, are better right now, and for what reason(s)?

Much respect to Ben , I love his mindset beyond poker and the thing that he is so passionate about his job. People also say that his work ethic is amazing!

He said that he will try to promote and help PS behind the ''closed doors'' hope this will bring only good things to the poker community :)

I think Stars has been focusing on sponsoring Twitch content creators (e.g. Tonkaaa, Arlie Shaban, etc...), so I wouldn't be surprised if Ben had been offered a pretty good contract. I've only seen him stream GG games, so I'll be interested to see if he becomes exclusive like the other Stars streamers.

The pokerstars hired Neymar from poker, I think he was a great hire, both for being a great player and being a great content producer. A nice move from pokerstars.

He did address that in a short youtube video. He said , it was important for him to be able to stream a big final table or deep run on other sites and Stars agreed with him to be able to do that. He did say his streams will be more focused on Stars, but he also said he plays the majority on Stars, now I don't count tables or tournaments when I watch his streams so I can only take him at his word.

I am from the U.S. so of course, I am limited, but from what I hear other pros talk about mainly is the rewards systems at PokerStars being the worst, behind GG, and even 888. Also the increases in rake has been an issue, even though I believe Stars did drop the rake a small amount for some stakes. Again, I play on StarsPA, of course the software is good, and I have really cut back on my hours of grinding lately, so I asked the question because I know Stars has parted ways with many of their pros. Many of them have not talked highly of them, except for Jeff Gross , he is too nice of a guy to say a bad word about anyone.

As I said earlier, I really appreciate everything Ben has done for the poker community, so I am not trying to start a thread bashing anyone. I want ben to succeed and would love to see Stars become more pro "friendly" again

The rakeback system at PokerStars is not the best, but it is the most famous poker room in the world. I think this is a good offer for Ben. Although he is Ben, he is not the same as Peter Parker's uncle, if you know what I mean. lol.

I can not play on GG Poker from my location (sweden), so I have no knowledge about their raward system. It is true though, that 888 Poker has a better reward system than Stars. However that is only part of the equation. Game selection is much better on Stars, and in particular for high stakes players or SnG grinders, 888 Poker dont have much to offer.

If I find good games, a reasonable rake (including rewards) and acceptable TOS, then I am happy to play on any site, regardless what some pros think about it.

and would love to see Stars become more pro "friendly" again

Thats likely not going to happen, since the entire industry trend is to cater to recreational players and at best tolerate pros. Those other sites like GG Poker and 888 Poker are certainly not any more "pro friendly". If anything its just the opposite with GG Poker even stating in their TOS, that they reserve themselfes the right to ban any cash game players, who try to do table selection.

I've heard about this player, but now I'll definitely study his content, and as for the stars, they seem to have started to change( competition obliges)!

You know, I should never have responded to you, you are one of those ignorant people that think no one is permitted to have an opinion, unless it is your opinion. This was a thread about Ben , not you. I won't be responding to anymore of your ridiculousness. You are what is so bad about forums.

Even more 'poker player' friendly at all & any stakes.
It seems many of the pros are on Stars during the big series and a small handful frequent the HighRoller tourneys (but not that many really).

I don't think the pros who rep a site really have much say on the site's policies. The site's are hoping the pros will attract new players and help retain existing players

What is certain is that the loyalty system with Pokerstars has been weak for years. There are these boxes but there is almost nothing in it other than StarCoins and Boost. One Weekly Free ticket still occurs in it but that’s it. It used to give you much better points from which you could buy more Tmoney in the Store. But this is just my opinion.

I don't know him just saw him playing few times, but as you wrote worth to find his contect and get to know him better.

You also mentioned reward program, which is not existing on Pokerstars. Not even mention the chests, This time they run the exclusive poker challange. 1000 points for 80$ (every 1$ you get 5 points). I reached 813 points, tomorrow they will stop this challange, and even I reached 4/5 of the challange, didn't get a single cent back.

Exactly - If the poker eco-system didn't provide an "in" for people to deposit and play, and not feel like they have much of a chance, then those people will spend their disposable income on something else, and all that's left are the same groups of players just passing money back and forth, and that's going to destroy poker.

Sites continue to hold incentive-type programs, to get people to play and enjoy poker. For myself personally, being a participant in the Moneymaker promotion on ACR was terrific, and though I didn't win, I'm glad I got to experience the opportunity and it has helped me with my game.

It's such a fine line though because they can't just shun those pro players that make their living because they are every bit as deserving of an opportunity to play.

This is great news. This year PokerStars has signed good players after losing a large part of their ambassadors, I just hope this brings changes in the room because they have lost ground compared to other rooms

Although I understand that PokerStars has gone a little bit downhill the past few years, it still has a very competitive player base, and since Ben is trying to help the poker community, I think it is more likely that he may be trying to help PS clean up their act instead of trying to push more players toward a worse poker site.

BencB is one twitch streamer that shows how much hes spending on the day. Which is pretty cool to see (sometimes more than 100K in BI).

I see Stars hiring a bunch of players. They also hired an brazilian pro player recently (GM_VALTER)
