A fantastic win for a great poker player! The win has to feel really good given he has been chasing bracelets for a while.

Thanks, DS!

Yup, I really like Alex and Kristen.

Shells, did you ever see that post I made about Alex Foxen and his sisters business? I believe it was in Community Hangout.

I was online and had the TV playing in the background on the cooking channel where the program then showed some cake specialists at work (no, not the monstrously large stunt cakes!). One segment was a cupcake specialist who if I remember correctly had been commissioned by a new cafe to produce cupcakes that looked like cups of coffee and little plants in pots etc. Something like that

So I glance from one screen to another and hear that this girl/young lady has started the business and her mother assists also. Then they briefly show the brother who was also helping with the order and I thought 'jeeze, that guy is a dead ringer for Alex Foxen'. After the show was over, I double checked the name of the bakery, searched for it on line and then much to my delight found it was owned by Alex Foxen's sister. Obviously Alex was genuinely helping with the order and on the website is pictured as part of the family that runs the business...all without any mention that he had already won a few titles and had an established career as a poker player.

Just put him in a fantastic light regards his family and the type of guy he is- a tight end at Boston College that made cupcakes for his sisters business whilst ascending the ranks to make millions at poker! Skills!

Edit! Went on line and found the bakery 'Reality Bites' owned by Ashley Foxen. The bakery was featured in the series 'Reality Cupcakes' and they used the Foxen family to promote the series.

I hadn't seen the thread, DS but will look for it! I may not agree with their stance on some things in life but I do admire both Kristen and Alex for their poker play and their ability to continue to grow as pro poker players! It is also very cool to see how close Alex is to his family, too!

Not doubt they are elite poker players and deserve all the credit for it

But Anti vaxxers and covid deniers like them made things 10000x worse for everyone.

I still cannot believe Alex compared vaccine mandates to a "medical apartheid".

No need to find the thread as I pretty much repeated the story and the link is a more detailed one than I provided before (and the post was quite some time ago.

Yup agree completely with what you and Kun Aguero Kroos have referred to. You know where my politics lie, my thoughts on vaccinations and Covid protocols.

Alex and Kristen were both tweeting and retweeting a lot of conspiracy guff throughout the pandemic but I could never quite put my finger on whether it was political or misguided. Foxen claimed it was not political (he dissed Trump and 'government' in general) and I sort of gave him a pass when their pandemic rubbish (generally) died down. That said, he did comply and wore the face 'shield' when it was stipulated.

However, yes, it remains a black mark, regardless of whether it came from a dumb or a political place.

alex foxen is a great player, I always see him at the final tables, that indicates the level he has to get as far as possible in a tournament, he has always maintained a very high level, congratulations to this great player.

It's about time he gets a bracelet, although the event only has 56 players in it. Not sure the true meaning of bracelets anymore with the Super High Roller high buyin /no field of players events. Not negative, just saying not all bracelets are created equally. Foxen is a great player and does deserve it.

Excellent interview. This man is a real player, ethical, smart and humble - he deserves success.
