Why don't they open up to the entire US market like ACR, Bovada, etc.?

"pokerstars has undergone the most obvious transition over the last five years, but it’s not the online operator to switch its focus."

I'm not sure I understand this paragraph.

I think this is how it was supposed to read. (with a few more words to finish the sentence)

PokerStars has undergone the most obvious transition over the last five years, but it’s not the only online operator to switch its focus in search of increased revenue.

The online poker market is very competitive, it is not easy to compete in them, and I think 888 is not making the right decisions, it is not surprising that over time their player traffic does not show consistent and sustained improvements, and when the most competitive rooms join the market, they make the panorama for 888 not the best.

What can we expect for the future? When decisions are made within an “executive office” whose sole objective is to generate more profits by forgetting to think and listen to the players, I believe that in the long term it is destined to continue falling.

I always mention that the competition is good, because when there is competition between the poker rooms it means significant improvements for the players in the long term, and I think 888 is far from being a competitive room.

888 Poker offers (by far) recreational players the best freerolls of all. They are better atm than fx. PokerStars. :p

Too bad freerolls don't make 888 any money on their own. But maybe a start in the right direction would be to have an actual random number generator instead of a memory game.

According to PokerScout cash game traffic at 888 Poker is around 900 over the last week, which is pretty much the same as 6 month ago. So their poker business seem to be pretty stable. Not growing but also not declining lately. The site dropping off a cliff right now is actually partypoker, maybe due to their decision to leave several grey markets.

I think there is a collective illusion that poker rooms are made for players, they are made for profit. All these measures are to optimize profit, there is no free lunch.

The traffic numbers - what do those represent? Number of players on average at any given time?

Yes and I think specifally for cash games, as far as the 900 number is concerned. I guess, the software dont notice, how many tables people play, so 900 is probably not even 900 individual players. It could be for instance 300 people playing on average 3 tables each.

This is absolutely true. poker sites are private businesses, and as other private businesses their main goal is to create profit for their investors. That being said winning poker players also need poker sites to attract recreational (losing) players, so depending how its done, there is not always a conflict to interest.

My friend, you are mistaken about 888. It is the most generous room in the world and I am surprised that it is still not recognized as a leader.

888 poket is now the best room for lovers and beginners. On 888 with zero bankroll, it’s easy to make money for the game. Yes, they have difficult and slow support, but this is offset by promos and free tournaments.

It depends on what you understand by "Generous".

888Poker has a high Rake compared to its competitors, does not have a Rakeback system and also the reward system it has is very poor. I should also mention that the software it offers has many aspects to improve. With so much to improve, 888 Poker must make better decisions if it wants to keep competing in the market.

Offering free tournaments is not enough to say that it is a good room.

Hi, I think that, nowadays,888 Poker offers,by far, its recreational players the best freerolls of all poker industry.
I agree, for players trying to learn to play poker there are very few freerolls on stars and almost none on partypoker. 888 poker have the best choices and promotions for recreational players.
