It is absolutely possible to create a bankroll and have a chance of winning by just playing freerolls and there is a lot of people to prove it. What it takes however is a lot of patience, time and most importantly knowledge of the game of poker. The poker sites aren't rigged in a way to award depositing players (even though it might feel like that sometimes - I know I've been there), they earn their money with rake.
So keep on trying/grinding at your game and you just might get there some day. But most of all, try to enjoy the game of poker!

I also play freerolls all the time.
