For me, there are several reasons. First of all, it is very comfortable to play from home. Furthermore, you can play many more hands online than in the casino.
In addition, especially introverted personalities much prefer to play at home than live.
Also, I am currently building my bankroll only with freerolls. Of course, this is only possible online.

Such a simple answer. Because its so convenient but mostly its because we dont all get to live in Vegas, in countries or cities where live poker is at your fingertips. I have to travel to the capital for example if I want a live session of poker and I have to find accomodation and even after that Im a bit wary ..

The biggest draws to online poker for me are convenience, and the fact that I can play multiple tables and faster games. I'd rather play 8 tables with 5 minute blinds in a tournament than one with 30 minute or an hour blinds. Yes your advantage over weaker players is reduced, there's more luck involved. But if you play well you will still have an advantage and you'll be able to grind out so many more games that it can become more profitable.

Online poker is very convenient, offers a wide range of games and most of all it can be very lucrative. I like the fact that you get to play more hands and since the whole idea of "Rush Poker" online poker is more action-packed than ever before.
The funny thing though, is that I experience more success in live games than online. I would occasionally take my winnings from playing live and lose it online! Although I enjoy online poker, it is something that I am constantly trying to master and make into a revenue stream for me.
One day I will get there!

I think because you can do it comfortably from home. You are flexible and have the casino in your pocket. What is also added that you can play at several tables at the same time. Because when I showed up at "Mohegun Sun" in in my underwear they wouldn't let me inside 🤣
Seriously though, I don't have to pay to drive there (about 1.45 min) I don't need to purchase food, and I can play with much lower stakes. If it were closer I would go more often, but i would still play online primarily due to the fact I can play microstakes every day
