I saw that it is not so good because more than recreational you find pure pros who do not always like to lose and in the end you become the rookie of each game because they are not very easy to win

freerolls may be wild at the start, but the deeper into the freeroll the more consistency that you start to see. There are some tournaments that I know, don't call unless you plan to go all in, because someone will raise all in for the first hour.

It is just part of the know when to hold and when to fold.

What may appear that way because there are more action on the weekends in the US. In most states we are not free to choose what site to play.

I tend to play more on weekdays.

On my time zone (GMT-3) the best time is somewhere after 6PM.

I find lots of LAGs from upper Asia like Russians, Kazakhs, Romanians...

These guys usually have a super high VPIP and extremely low PFR so it's pretty hard to Range them and know when they're bluffing.

Recreational Players are what keep the On-line Poker industry going, they are too scared to play in the Live games because they don't want to come up against Professional Players, some don't even want to step inside a Casino because they know the temptation to try other Casino game's of chance, will cost them money in the long term.
We all need to find the best game for ourselves, and if you want to make money from playing Poker you have to stick with what you are best at. Some players prefer Tournament's, other's will prefer Cash games, or Ring games.
Personally I prefer to play Live games in a Casino, and will spend a good hour walking around trying to find the best seat, so I can to take advantage of players who are losing heavily (fish). As the saying goes "If you cannot spot the Fish, 5 minutes after sitting down, You are probably the Fish".
I don't play On-line Poker to make money, mainly because you cannot spot the fish that easily, and I only want to have some fun playing a game I enjoy, You will not come up against Professional players, playing Low and Micro stakes because they are not going to make enough money to pay for their time, Likewise you don't get many Pro's playing Free-rolls for the same reason, unless they are desperate and broke!
Low stakes, and Free-rolls are fun game's , because I am not risking a lot of cash trying to make money, I am a recreational Player when I play on-line and really don't care if I lose a couple of Dollars, now and again, the important thing is that I enjoy myself and have a little Fun!

When the fun Stops, STOP!

Weekdays seem more predictable but weekends are indeed wild and full of gambling. Therefore, tag works. Hitting the flop or the board hard works best and there's opportunity to win big because of the gamblers. Luck matters on weekends, but if it's my lucky weekend, then I just collect the money from donors. I only chase nut hands, pump the pot postflop and if I don't hit big, I fold, not much bluffing, easy as that. Weekdays I play more balanced and chase the small pots and try to pump more preflop..

I prefer playing at the weekends due to the fact that it can be like the wild west, the reason for this is due to the type of games i prefer - PKO as you get the calls you want and there are so many fish out there - for sure, there are days when its going to be a donkfest but in the main, its where i make my buy ins back and profit on the bounties!

I play more during the weekend, because I have a commitment to outside work, but whenever I have a day off during the week, I spend the day playing.

It's statistic, on the weekend there are more recreational players at the tables.
This makes the EV of regular players higher as it can exploit these players' mistakes.

In fact, I think it is rubbish to play the weekend, everyone says it is better to play recreational games, bla bla bla ... you can't read any open raise range by position at all .... they play like maniacs in both freerolls and money , and as they are unbelievable luck, I stopped playing the weekend, and the worst is that there are more freerolls at the weekend, a bit boring. If I get angry at the weekend I don't know what goes on in these players' minds, it must be schizophrenia. I'm dying to play a nice and nice little game but it's difficult.
Yes, freerolls are wild games. And sometimes you spend more nerves there than in tournaments with buy-ins.:)

I agree with the opinions above that it is more important the time of day, which is the most of the bad players.

But due to the fact that I live in Belarus, and this is +8 hours to ET, it is quite difficult to play at such a time, because after 4-5 hours I already need to be cheerful and work at my main job. The only thing that saves me is that I work remotely at home.

I agree weekends are more difficult, while I agree you want to play against the weekend pusher's,the problem is the luck factor ,with so many bingo player its like playing russian roulette, from Dirty Harry do you feel lucky punk, now if you can wade thru the 1st couple of hrs they will be gone and a nice prize pool left

Once again, here we have a demonstration that people do not really understand that "increased short-term variance" and "long-term positive expected value (+EV)" very often go hand-in-hand. In fact, I would go so far as to claim they are inseparable.

Yes, weekend recreational players don't play "according to the book"... so what? Is that bad for us in the long run, or good for us? If the recs don't use "good strategies" in their play, then that is beneficial to us!! But not necessarily in the short run!! And all tournaments occur in the short run. But good poker players IGNORE the short-run variance factor. Good poker players embrace this variance, because they know and understand that over the long run, adjusting our own strategies in response to the looser and/or more passive strategies utilized by the recreational player is +EV for us. But you have to know how to adjust to these players, you cannot just "play your game" and think that you will profit automatically from them. You also shouldn't think that "oh no, a table full of recs, I am doomed!"

Poker is a game of proper adjustment to table conditions, that is what makes winning players. So embrace the recs, be thankful THEY are in our games, because otherwise we will only be playing against "good regs", players who are better than us, and that is very much -EV over the long run.

Hope this helps! My opinions obviously.

.

Indeed.

Perhaps a lot of players who think they're "Pro" are actually Recs. The difference might be sussed by answering the question "what does ""long-term"" mean to me"?

I love playing the weekends, mainly because of the players that go on tilt in trnys and then try to get their $ back by playing cash-games. As Danny and the boys used to say about Hellmuth when he'd sit down at the table in High Stakes Poker,"Yum, yum..."

I think it really depends. If you are looking for more freerolls or special events then definitely the weekends are better. However, for a smaller player pool the weekdays are better. I always find there are less registered players in comparison to the weekend games. However, if you play a lot of on demand games, they take longer to fill up to start during the week so that's another downfall.

If you can’t adapt to the worst players what does that say about you? They are easier to bluff and easier to value bet against.
