I would like to say that if I see that I am not doing well in poker today or I am going into a strong negative, I immediately go out and forget about poker today, but unfortunately this happens very rarely, I also fail in the hope of winning back, but I learn from my mistakes that it is better to go and distract myself as it will not last long and calm down.

Chasing losses almost never work out better to quit and come back next day.

I would like to know what they do when they have a bad day at the poker table, usually when I am having a bad day it is difficult for me to quit, in the end I end up losing a lot of dollars in a short time, so I would like to know your experiences and your tips.
I just stop playing

I stop playing. I go exercise or go for a walk and get some fresh air. I might take a break for a couple of days and if Ido decide to play sooner, I remind myself that variance is not good at the moment so just relax and try to enjoy the ride anyhow :)

I accept it for what it is. A bad day will happen as will a good day. Stop playing for a bit and come back fresh.

I think that when you have a bad day playing poker the most common thing is that you have to take a break, relax and study your hands of that session, and if you feel motivated you start again that same day, but if not the next day you're back at the tables.

Yeah, been there done that for sure. When you are running bad getting very unlucky it gets tough, tilt is starting and your game going downwards. I recommend stop playing if you can't focus, you can lose even you are playing good so if you notice that you start to play bad then stop, if your focus is still on point you can keep and grind it up. Usually I recommend to just go out and breath fresh air, stop for a while is the best recommendation I guess.

Good morning everyone, there are days when everything we do goes wrong, AK loses to AQ, takes bad bets in a row, on those days I just stop registering, on average I usually play 18 Mtts a day, but when I see that the section it's not good I stop and I'll only play again the other day.

Nothing, go back again to compensate, but it is not at the same time , that you set a certain limit for yourself in terms of loss and profit

That's all discipline to say enough is enough and go do something else. If you can't say today isn't your day and you get that "I lost x amount and I have to get it back" mentality then that's another problem that you risked too much to begin with and you feel regret. Either way, when you play you shouldn't have any of those feelings. All you have to do is understand what you are risking before playing and be honest about it. If you played and lost x amount and you feel you have to stay to recapture that lost amount then you did not understand what you could lose or you lied to yourself about how you would feel if you lost that amount and if you still cannot stop playing then you might have a more serious gambling problem.

There were times where I drove for HOURS to get to a casino and when I finally got there didn't feel like playing so I would go do something else like go eat or walk around before leaving but if I didn't feel like playing I wouldn't because I knew from experience that I was setting myself up for failure and would have a bad session. I found it would be better to eat the cost of travel and come back the next day or much later and just write a small loss in the book then take a big loss. Get to know yourself and have a plan how to deal with things and this stuff will not be hard.

On a bad day when I have played my best but I'm either card dead or getting bad beats I generally treat it like a downswing as sometimes you run good and other times it just not your day. So best to walk away otherwise you start forcing the action and throw good money after bad and a dollar saved is a dollar earned. So I preplan by having a system ie I lose 2 buy ins and I walk away, go do something else for a while like go for a walk the gym etc, and leave the game as it will always be there when you are ready to come back. Here are some tips: Drop Down in Stakes if you have recently moved up as this is one of the most effective ways to minimize the downswings. While away from the tables study an review Hands . Evaluate Your Game. Maintain Your Focus. Keep practicing. When I get a feeling that I'm starting to tilt at the table I have a couple quick meditation exercises called centering to regain focus and one or two minute meditation exercises to keep me off tilt and regain focus you can do both right at the table.
Just google 1 or two minute meditation exercises or a centering meditation. Good luck hope this helps.

Take a break - for a few days even - socialise with other people - friends & family - go outside get some fresh air - do some exercise. you don't want to get addicted to gambling!

Our opponents mistakes are meant to be punished. Too many times they're rewarded.

Log off try again tomorrow...else it follows you like a bad smell.

As soon as you lose being it a single loss or a streak revenge is the first thing to pop up into your mind. And that accompanied by your belief that things will turn around will twist your perception of reality. And you will start to look for a way to recover your losses. You will lose focus and, obviously make bad decisions other players love to exploit. So, IMHO, stick to a daily limit no matter what. And if you lose that limit come back tomorrow.

Top players in spin and go at GGPOKER are inside the winning positions between 30 and 40 percent. So, the advice is to set daily limits and if you lose that limit, stop. And come back tomorrow. There is just no way to have just good days in this game.

I really depends of how I am feeling. I can get knocked out of a few tournament s and just continue on if I am playing and feeling good about the game. On the other hand if I feel i am not playing well or pressing my game when playing I can and will stop playing right away.

Basicly, once my game play is not 100% or at least close I will shut it down for the day or even longer.

This thread has been very helpful to me! Today was a really bad day, and I lost a lot of my meager funds. It's true that when you lose, you want to play more to recover, and in my case, it's my downfall. I'll have to build up my bankroll patiently again and learn to manage frustration with many of your tips. Thank you! :D
