What could end online poker?

Governments would end poker. It's already happened in some countries. You technically can't play there and it is disappointing if this happens.

Absolutely playing against bots can end the online poker for sure. poker sites should work hard and round the clock to prevent this kind of problem.

Its become clear that RTA (real time assistance) aka Solvers are a threat to online poker. As computer processing power gets faster and cheaper this will be the undoing of online poker. Currently it is mostly a threat to online high stakes cash games but eventually I see it affecting more levels of play as the computers continue to get faster and cheaper.


Who ever comes up with a solution can save poker and make a lot of money licensing the solution. I have some experience at licensing, so if anyone wants to tackle this, feel free to contact me to save online poker.

The improvement of AIs and the increase of processor power over the next years, could result in a dissemination of undetectable bots. That would end the competitive nature of every sport played online, including poker.

Not any time soon. Even black friday couldn't end it and lately there has been a considerable increase in online poker traffic during this pandemic. I can't think of anything that could end it apart from maybe getting criminalized in all countries.. even then there will be a potential emergence of underground rooms in the dark web. Thats if they don't exist already.

Notably the world is constantly evolving, technology is increasingly advanced. Man's yearning to create the human-like machine is growing ever closer to reality. As I see it, although it can evolve along with the machine, it can turn around and destroy everything around it. I do not believe that small lines of code in the programming of these robots will be holding that there will be a machine revolt against humanity. But leaving a bit of fiction in poker, I see no need to create something like that, as there is money involved, so the man's greed will infect the cause using the proper eriquement program soon made the online hamburger unfit for competition, extending the game online.

Only by disconnecting the internet does online poker disappear, or that each country restricts it or increases taxes on casinos or online gambling. In my country (Venezuela) they closed all the casinos. As long as there is electricity, online poker is played. The Cardschat freeroll on Tuesday and Thursday at 8pm ET do not play the games because they take my power away.

Cheaters, and sites that don't pay have hurt the game, but not killed it. Government regulation, probably as a result of the above, could kill the game. No one will play if there is no money.

We are approaching a time when there are too many poker rooms, all trying their hardest to attract players using gimmicks and goofy promotions.

The few players that want to play poker are spread so thinly that they are hard to find.

Eventually it will get to a point that the gimmicks over-take poker

it really is dying

rakes are increasing , fast poker ( spin n goes , cyclones , etc ) is more like bingo ,bounties + PKO also send variance up and now we have to deal with players using solvers and other assistance as they play , or use a program full time . as someone else mentioned , its only a matter of time before the quality bots start trickling down to the smaller stakes .sorry to say but you will have only a slim chance of outplaying AI in a year or two . online poker is already in a terminal phase !

fully agree with this opinion! as online games have raplaced irl games(it's good that only partially), online poker can be easy replaced by any other type of entertainment/rest cooked-up for making money on users

there are not much games as interesting as poker
