There are too many technological innovations putting into a poker online.
VR at PS is quite cool and i like this idea, but i dont have sure about that im playing at the moment with bots i dont belive in 0101000101 system

I think that if the rooms want, they will be able to fight the bots. If it is someone else's bots, not the bots of the room itself.

I was 1 year without playing poker online and still very strong. It is very difficult to end online poker, since for many it is a comfort to play from your room. I think we will have online poker for a while

I dont think, online poker will die anytime soon, but the high stakes scene has already been slowly dying for the last decade. This is because, games are getting solved, so edges between good players have become slim to non existent. It also does not help, that rich recreational players from several countries are not allowed to play by their government.

Hi, I hope that online poker will never die but without a doubt the biggest enemy he has right now are the bots but I'm glad to see how many poker rooms are taking action against them, in poker as in everything that involves money will always see people who try to take advantage of cheating I think that between us players and poker rooms we must be constantly fighting against them to get these people out of online poker that way we will ensure that online poker never dies

The law will not prohibiting online gambling any way in the near future. Thats what I believe. You can end your online carrier by yourself anytime though

Online poker is a locomotive that cannot be derailed.

Online viruses could wreak some havoc. Other than that the only threat to online poker are humans, themselves. Greed and trolling seem to have a way of doing some damage.

If there is a big cheating or corruption scandal there will be a huge negative impact. Also, major criminal charges and laws for playing online could certainly derail poker online.

I see a possibility where as technology gets more advanced, intuitive softwares could be very well used to cheat at poker (AI)

Maybe someday the poker rooms will create very unfavorable conditions for the game, for example, rake will increase greatly. It is also possible that special bots will be created belonging to poker rooms that will be considered part of the software, it’s possible that someday they will be embedded in the customer base and start playing at the tables next to other users. Online poker as it is right now can be easily destroyed by a better version.
Today the single player who actually wins is the casino or poker site. It robs all players with rake.
PC server sees no difference between hosting 10000 player freeroll or 10K player $1.1MTT or 10K player $109 buy-in MTT. In all 3 cases Computer will consumer less than 1 dollar of traffic and energy. But owner of the server will receive different profit in all 3 cases.

A new type of online poekr room may destroy current online poker.
What type of poker room is that? It's the one where you pay 1-5 dollars per month for membership and play any tourney with no rake. Such poker room can also have open source RNG algorythm, unlike current poker rooms who have their RNG algorythms hidden like sop top secrets... Such poker room can also be registered in some real country, not at ofshore islands, where noone can check what's going on inside this room, do they have their own bots and how do they work with players.

Poker Pro might have a look at his stats for past 5 or 10 years... He has $1.5mil profit, but he also paid $2.5 mil. rake to the PokerStars during 10 years. This might continue during next10 years, and he will see the same picture in year 2029. What will it mean for him? That he has lost addiitional 2.5 millions of profit. In case of new poker room, he will be paying $5 per month = 60 per year = $600 per 10 years. Simply compare $600 rake per 10 years and $6K or more and there you go. PokerStars, 888 and all others are dead. They had a nice 15 year long marathon of robbing poker community, maybe the time to stop this robbery has come?

It exists for centuries. It's called ideology.

Idology has flag, anthem, education, lifestyle as methods of control. Lets have a look at example of USA? Flag with stars... it reminds a rigle stock or a plane where pilot draws new star after hitting new opponent. New leader may want to add a new star to the flag.
What about anthem? Majority of countries are singing about their people, their beauty and glory... USA has bombs and rockets and foes in their anthem.

Ideology is the 4th out of 5 directions of the power. Usually people think that the power is separated in 3 directions. 1) Executive 2) Judicial 3) Legislative, and any university will teach you that it's so. 3 branches of power and nothing else, but it's a lie. There are 5 branches of power, and Ideology is one of the main directions. Ideology is not different from Artificial Intellegence that can tap and control our thoughts. You might become a billionaire and be one of the most educated persons in the world, but your idology wants you to be a consumer, wants you to be stupid, wants you to watch StarWars, IronMan, Game Of Thrones, SuperBowl and rest of the timewasting things that will ead you to the road of stupidity and consumation. And during this time, when ideology has your attention - it writes necessary code of conduct inside your brain. That makes those who fall for this trick a victim and a product of ideology.

How to fight against such and create your personal ideology? Just ask yoursefl a simple question before doing anything. "How this knowledge or action will improve my life?" What is better - to spend 40 hours for watching TV series that last 40 hours, or to spend 40 hours on 40hour long programming course and learn a programming language that will give you new options in your future? Life isn't a neverending process, spend it wise, cause 90-97% of information around us is someones bluff designed to create profit using fools who will fall for such bluff. Don't call me some conspiracy theory freak, cause I'm not one of them, i do know that conspiracy theories are not theories, they are reality and someones business, Santa Claus is a conspiracy theory, do you still believe in Santa or you're a grown up now? What about the rest of the world around you? Do you, the one who reads this, see signs of job well done by some con artists in 90% of things around you? Doesn;t matter if it's a object or a process...

Governments would end poker. It's already happened in some countries. You technically can't play there and it is disappointing if this happens.

Absolutely playing against bots can end the online poker for sure. Poker sites should work hard and round the clock to prevent this kind of problem.

Bots! And, we are in that phase already now...

Its become clear that RTA (real time assistance) aka Solvers are a threat to online poker. As computer processing power gets faster and cheaper this will be the undoing of online poker. Currently it is mostly a threat to online high stakes cash games but eventually I see it affecting more levels of play as the computers continue to get faster and cheaper.


Who ever comes up with a solution can save poker and make a lot of money licensing the solution. I have some experience at licensing, so if anyone wants to tackle this, feel free to contact me to save online poker.

The improvement of AIs and the increase of processor power over the next years, could result in a dissemination of undetectable bots. That would end the competitive nature of every sport played online, including poker.

Not any time soon. Even black friday couldn't end it and lately there has been a considerable increase in online poker traffic during this pandemic. I can't think of anything that could end it apart from maybe getting criminalized in all countries.. even then there will be a potential emergence of underground rooms in the dark web. Thats if they don't exist already.

If my plan to win every pot comes to fruition, eventually people will get discouraged and leave the game in droves.

Only by disconnecting the internet does online poker disappear, or that each country restricts it or increases taxes on casinos or online gambling. In my country (Venezuela) they closed all the casinos. As long as there is electricity, online poker is played. The Cardschat freeroll on Tuesday and Thursday at 8pm ET do not play the games because they take my power away.

Cheaters, and sites that don't pay have hurt the game, but not killed it. Government regulation, probably as a result of the above, could kill the game. No one will play if there is no money.

We are approaching a time when there are too many poker rooms, all trying their hardest to attract players using gimmicks and goofy promotions.

The few players that want to play poker are spread so thinly that they are hard to find.

Online poker is 98% ruined now, and cyber attacks are eating at the remainder as we speak.

rakes are increasing , fast poker ( spin n goes , cyclones , etc ) is more like bingo ,bounties + PKO also send variance up and now we have to deal with players using solvers and other assistance as they play , or use a program full time . as someone else mentioned , its only a matter of time before the quality bots start trickling down to the smaller stakes .sorry to say but you will have only a slim chance of outplaying AI in a year or two . online poker is already in a terminal phase !
